If a Canadian team made the SCF that number would be doubled

Canada's ratings don't count towards the ratings we're used to seeing.

Last night's ratings also had a nice rebound from the previous 4 disappointments. There seems to be some hype building now and I wonder if we will start seeing comparable game 6 numbers to 2015 and 2016

Domestic box office numbers combine both the US and Canadian takes.

the comparisons that I have seen so far are not Apples to apples due to the Canada.
Ratings are down, well no shite. What would those ratings look like if you add an expected number of viewers for an average market of an east team?

Or even easier, what do the numbers look like if you take out the viewers from the finals teams markets and compare that to this year's, minus the GS market viewers.
Maybe after that it's still down, but that's a more apt comparison.

When my daughter was 5 I had some basketball game on.
She looked at the guys on the screen and
she said, "which one are we, dad?".

All you need to know about fan identity.

Now imagine if it had been Milwaukee vs Golden State??? This series has been a ratings disaster despite the spin of the entire country of Canada tuning in. Imagine if the Maple Leafs ever get to the NHL Finals...the ratings in Canada would be 10x higher than what we are seeing from the Raptors ratings. Simply put, less people in America are watching the NBA finals.

Less people in America are watching all sports but football

ETA: actually it may be all sports, this Super Bowl was very low
