John Wall is going to be a top 3 PG, shite he already is if you look at the past few months of the NBA season. The only player in the league that was playing better than him was LeBron.

Top 10 no particular order
CP3
Parker
Westbrook
Irving
Curry
Rose
Rondo
Lillard
Williams
Holiday

Next 5 (no particular order)
Conley
Jennings
Wall
Lawson
Rubio

So yeah, I would say he's an "average" PG in this league. Not because he isn't a good player but because they're so many good PGs in today game.

So hes an average PG? Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to troll this thread

He probably is trolling, but the league is littered with quality PGs right now.

CP3
Rondo
Kyrie
Westbrook
Rose
Parker
Curry
DWIll
Wall

All of those guys are better.

Walker, Lowry, Dragic, Conley, Holiday, Evans, Jennings and Rubio are all pretty close to Lawson as well. I'd probably put him ahead of all of those guys though.

Ok, my bad. You weren't trolling, you're just wrong.

The only people in you top-10 who I will concede are probably better than Lawson imo are

CP3
Parker
RW
Rose
Rondo (probably)
Curry (MAYBE)

As far as the others:

Irving, maybe. He can't stay healthy and hes more or less just a scorer at this point.

DWill: see my last post.

Lillard: after one season shooting 42% on an awful team? Get real

Jrue: I like him alot, but its at BEST a toss up, but I'd give Lawson the edge, he can do more and puts soo much pressure on a D.

Only one of Ty Lawson's friends or relatives could list him in the top 5. Simply put, that is ridiculous.

Paul, Parker, Kyrie, Westbrook, and healthy Rose and Rondo are unquestionably better than Lawson. If we're calling Curry a point guard, he is also up there.

Deron Williams and Jrue Holiday are also better but I think they are the 8th and 9th best at their position. With the previous seven, I really don't know how I'd rank them (Rose in particular).

At best, Lawson is number 10. However, I would confidently put Wall above him based on what he did the past 3 months. Now is Wall going to do this consistently? Who knows?

Like you said, there is a huge cluster of guys after the top 10. Mike Conley, Jeff Teague, Lawson, Rubio (based on potential, mostly), Jennings, and Lillard are all in the mix. He's somewhere between 11th and 16th, so I agree with you completely. He's slightly above average in one of the deepest positions in NBA history.

If I had to rank the top 16

1) Paul
2) Parker
3) Westbrook
4) Rose (injury concerns)
5) Kyrie
6) Rondo
7) Curry
8) Deron Williams
9) Holiday
10) Wall
11) Lillard
12) Lawson
13) Rubio (potential)
14) Conley Jr
15) Jennings
16) Teague

Lawson is a slightly better shooter (especially from 3) and less turnover prone. Wall is better in every other area.

I need you to expound on why the bolded names are above Lawson.

I think you overrate Wall but his last 2-3 months were amazing. I think he was putting up about 20, 8, and 6 per game while shooting much more efficiently than what we've seen before. Anyone laughing about Wall clearly hasn't followed the NBA closely this year.

However, I suspect he will regress after he gets his max deal.

It's a 3 month stretch. Am I supposed to forget the two years before that where he was extremely turnover prone, made terrible decisions, and couldn't hit an open J to save his life?

The last two years, Lawson has been extremely efficient, under control, and has ran that Denver offense with maturity.

They are all 3 years younger than Lawson and have put up better stats. Not all have more efficient numbers than Lawson, but they have much worse supporting casts and are still able to put up better raw numbers despite having less experience, and at worst, their efficiencies are only a little worse.

His overall season stats are better, too.

Now if I want Wall for 4 years/60 million or Lawson for 4/48, I'm not quite sure.

Is "Gravy" Kyrie Irving? I have no idea who else that could be but I've never heard anyone called Gravy

I don't think age should be a factor in this discussion. If so, surely guys like Lillard and Kyrie would be ranked ahead of guys like TP, for example.

And I agree with what you said regarding supporting casts, but disagree with your conclusion. These guys put up better raw stats because they have worse supporting casts, not in spite of it. Of course they score more, they have to! Lawson could put up similar numbers if he had to on a talentless team, but you see how Denver spreads the ball around. Everybody gets touches and shots. Extremely balanced team, yet he is definitely their best player/leader.

Underrated?? Have you seen his contract?? You're out of your mind.

So are you basing it off contracts or play on the court? Make up your mind

Anyways, your post is mostly BS and filled with generalities. Significantly speaking, he can't pass any better than lawson. He doesn't rebound any more than Lawson. His 3pt percentage isn't much better than lawsons. His defense is...very ehhh. And BTW, his FG% is much lower than lawson. But I guess hes got him on FT%, case closed

How is it generalities?

Williams had more points, blocks, assists, rebounds, 3PM, and FT% compared to Lawson. Significant or not. Deron has been at the top of those categories for PGs since he came into the league. I don't know what else to tell you.

You also said Deron was inefficient. I told you he had the 7th best PER (Performance Efficiency Rating) amongst PGs. Lawson was 13th.
