NBA (and NBA Betting) Thread 4/15

Still a few games affecting seeding tonight most importantly being HOU - UTA. A win guarantees Houston a 1st rd matchup vs one of the 2 weakest Western Conference teams, DAL or POR. A win and a SAS loss, Dallas. A win and a SAS win, Portland. HOU will have home court in either series. Let's do it....

Is that right? If the Spurs lose and the Rockets win, wouldn't the Clippers own the tie-breaker with the Rockets and that means the Clippers would be 2nd and the Rockets 3rd?

That would make HOU the division winner and division winner is the first tiebreaker. There's no way for HOU to get the 3 seed.

Not sure if this is still relevant...but as of like 2 days ago there was a way for the Blazers to be the 4 and the Rockets to be the 5 with home-court going to HOU. This was the case because Blazers would be the division winner (in which case you can be no lower than a 4), but HOU has a better record, therefore getting home-court.
Weird rule, I know. But the purpose is to incentivize winning your division to play "one of the lessor opponents". Which obviously in a year like this isn't the case.

That's still the case. If the Spurs and Rockets both win tonight, the Rockets will be 5th and have home court vs. the Blazers.
