Charlotte passed the pro-transgender thing that started it all, and now they are the place that gets punished.

Ouch.

Why has Miami only had one ASG (1990)? 75 degrees in February in South Florida. Really weird.

Charlotte had no authority to do that, which forced the state to overreach in response. The city council probably took notes from Obama.

Why don't they pull their NBA *Team* if its that goddam important to them?

Whats'a matter Commissioner? You don't have the courage of your convictions?

I think he told them he's pull the ASG if they didn't change it. They didn't change it. He pulled the game. Thanks for the ASW North Carolina!

Yes they did lol.

Ordinances are a perfectly legal way to govern within a city. Charlotte already had an ordinance on the books barring discrimination based on race, sex, age, and religion. Which stood for a long time and was only overturned by the state congress when they went to update the ordinance to include LGBT. Using the power of state government to over-rule local ordinances.

Are you stupid? Somebody owns the team, the league can do what they want with it's ASG.

The most overpriced event in sports.
Other than seeing all the stars of the league in one setting the game is absolutely nothing like a NBA playoff game.

The skills comps and dunk contest are not worth the money either.

Last time in New Orleans the empty seats were everywhere.

How so? Don't need St. Charles to get anywhere downtown, and if anything the NBA people sponsors and stuff may want to check out Mardi Gras.

Well St. Charles will be basically impassible for anyone trying to get across the street for peak times of the day for one thing

I was just looking at the parade schedule for that weekend. Packed with parades. That would be a logistical nightmare.

Unless you're extremely close to courtside all the Saturday night stuff is better to watch on TV. Can you imagine how painful that Birdman dunk contest must've been to regular people in the stands?

Scott Kushner ?@ScottDKushner 2m2 minutes ago I am confident, based on many conversations, that New Orleans is getting this All Star Game. But the deal is not done as of this second.

Kush actually has legitmate sources with the Pelicans. So they must feel pretty confident about it. If he or Stein say it, it is basically coming from the Pels.
