I am not a Jimmy Fan, But I recognize how good he and his team is.
Perhaps you would prefer to go back 20+ years so only two drivers would be on the lead lap at the end of a race. Maybe a driver could win the championship with 5 races to go in the season.

He is an amazing driver. You can't tell me that him winning 5 in a row had nothing to do with viewing numbers and attendance numbers dropping. It got boring watching the same person winning over and over again.

If it hadn't been for the implementation of the chase, JJ would only have two titles. Gordon would have 2 more (6 total), Harvick would have one, and Edwards would have 2, tony would only have 1, and keselowski would have one. Only 2 would have been complete blowouts. JJ would have won in 06, but Gordon would have won by 350 points in 07.
