I guess it all comes down to how you define a position. I always thought alot of the specific position designations were used for novice fans like myself.

i generally define it by who you are on the floor with, and your size.

He is about 6'3"- 6'4" to begin with. There arent many, if any, SF's in the NBA at this size.

early in his career played along side guys like James Posey, ricky davis, and dorrell wright, and then of course later with Lebron.

this past year with luol deng.

I can say the same that Jordan and Kobe were in the corner waiting to cut while the primary ballhandlers were running the offense?

I can't say that all.

quote:

When Wade was the man, no Shaq or LeBron/Bosh, say 08-09 smack dab in the middle of his career, he couldn't get out of the first round in the East

When MJ was the man, no Pippen, he never made it out of the 1st round.

When Kobe was the man, no Shaq/Gasol, how successful was he?

But you're only holding that against Wade, just seems strange.

west was never a pure shooting guard. really a combo guard. i consider him more of a point than a shooting guard. if he was a shooting guard he'd be in front of drexler

Prime T-Mac would take Prime Wade one-on-one.
What does that have to do with top 10 SGs of all time?

Wade has him beat in virtually every efficiency category, as well as the "regular" stats.

And Wade was better defensively. I love TMac, huge fan. I don't see where's the argument that he was better. I think another poster showed their peak seasons combined numbers, Wade was still better.

Shel, you quoted my take on his time with the Heatles, I responded and then you respond with a different quote? It's seeems like you agree that Wade's importance in the Heatles was little.

I wouldn't say MJ was in his prime before Pippen arrived.
I would say Kobe was in a much tougher conference.
I would say Prime Wade was in one of the weakest conferences ever.

Wade, statistically speaking, is on a downward trend.

Wade on a (rumored)3 year deal? Imagine 36 year old DWade's game.Gaudy career numbers will regress just like Allen,T-Mac and Carter.

and again

quote:

Jordan
Kobe
West

Gervin
Drexler
T-Mac

Carter
Allen
Wade
Moncrief

In the two groups ahead him, I don't think Prime Wade could take any of those guys in their prime one-on-one.

I quoted 2 statements, the 2nd one twice, you're intentionally ignoring that one, and honestly it's made no sense both times.

as Paul pierce was by far the best player on that championship team,

by far? c'mon

Pierce, Allen and Garnett were all fairly equal.

Allen and Pierce played the same exact amount of minutes per game.

All 3 took the same exact amount of shots per game, at 13.

Pierce 19.6 ppg
Garnett 18.8 ppg
Allen 17.4 ppg

He's a giant douchebag and he doesn't have the knack for putting himself in the spotlight in a positive way that pierce does but KG was the best player of the three by some margin IMO.

Note his markedly superior PER and WS/48.
