After you get a certain age (I am 52) you start to realize that every other week there is a game of the year and every other year there is a game of the decade, etc.
In other words, nothing in particular matters all that much in sports because there is always another "big game" next week and even if your team wins a WS or SB or MNC you will still bitch and feel bad after their first loss next year.
USA Today feeds the nonsense because they make their money off hyping interest in something just like every other media outlet.
