He's the only person playing the game today that you can point to a time in the past when they made the game and everyone in it his bitch.

To say Tiger will do that again is WAAAAAY less of a stretch than to say that anyone else will do it.

How can this mean anything if you have zero clue about Tiger, mentally?

None, none of us do.

I know nothing of Tiger, but I do know of the mindset.

I like him because he's one of the greatest golfers/sports figures of all time. I could give a flying frick what he does outside of the ropes.

But you don't know Tiger's mindset, that's my point.

That's not the point.

He lost something over the past few years that he will likely never get back. I hope the best for the guy, but the odds are now highly in favor of the field, not him anymore

I can live with that. But not even Tiger will do what "Tiger did" again.

I believe that most of his problems have actually been physical/technique (health and swing deterioration).

He had such a long layoff post scandal and injury that his physical game suffered.

Since Fall 2011, He's finally been able to work on this new swing and develop the requisite muscle memory (which leads to consistency).

If you don't have a consistent swing - you're going to have problems (no matter how solid your mental state).

The mental state is overblown. I've seen guys blow big leads one week and win in the succeeding weeks - all the time. I've seen guys play their best when going through divorce, criminal charges, personal life tragedy/turmoil, etc.

It's clear that he has been improving the last couple months and it was only a matter of time before he got that first win. Even before this tournament, I had a strong feeling that Tiger would be winning the Masters this year. He always performs well there, even during this drought he's been on. With a much improved game, watch out in Augusta.

Very excited to see this...golf is just better when Tiger is winning

That's an indicator of the viewers being back, not Tiger.

But I do agree Tiger is back I a consistent manner.

comparing Tiger to all other golfers is just dumb

he won't be as dominant as he was but i think he'll regain world #1 and come close if not break jacks record

This is obvious. Put down Hank Haney's book and get that "mindset" shite out of your head. The only thing that will stop Tiger is injury.

I think Tiger can get back to the same level as 04-09 Tiger.

I'm not your typical weekend warrior FWIW. Don't mistaken me for some fool who bought The Idiots Guide to Mental Golf and thought he knew shite after reading it.

Fair enough.

I'd also say that his big slump is mainly due to age, injuries, and just having a lot of time off.

I'm not saying the mental part didn't play a part in it, I'm just saying I don't know how it affected him because there is no way for any of us to know that, unless he tells the world or we know him personally.

Completely agree. But there is something in his isolation, having not said anything publicly, that speaks for itself. There are plenty of words in no words at all.
