Any sport, what do you guys got? All the Dirk threads got me thinking about the amazing deal the mavs pulled off trading Tractor Traylor for Dirk & Pat Garrity who ended up getting re-rerouted for Steve Nash. 2 future MVP's for a guy who flamed out of the NBA with quickness?

Has any trade in any sport ever ended up more lopsided down the road?

Vlade Divac, I mean he wasn't that bad but again the mavs got 2 MVP's for tractor traylor, not many even know that name. Divac was a decent center in the league.

that hornets trade was set up before the draft i want to say. so it's not like anyone 1. knew Kobe would be there or 2. knew he would be as good as he was

Nash was traded for a pick that turned into Shawn Marion, not just Garrity.

Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz.

It was intended to be one of those deals where the good team (Detroit) rents a proven veteran for the pennant race and the bad team (Atlanta) gets a prospect to build for the future. Alexander had a great season and helped them win the division.

Smoltz had a Hall of Fame career.

First thing that comes to mind is the Cubs sending Ivan DeJesus to the Phillies for Larry Bowa and....... Ryne Sandberg.

Braves send:

Elvis Andrus
Matt Harrison
Neftali Perez
Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Beau Jones

Rangers send

Mark Teixeira (played 1 season, July 2007 to July 2008, before we traded him. Angels trade raped us on that deal too)
Ron Mahay (played half a season and signed with KC)

Christy Mathewson for Amos Rusie.

Rusie won one game for the Reds. Mathewson won over 300 for the Giants.

Zach remembers that trade very well.

The only issue with that trade is none of those guys turned into a Hall of Fame type career. Elvis Andrus was the best player in that trade but the Braves had Yunel Escobar, Andrelton Simmons, and now Dansby Swanson at shortstop. The worst trade the Braves made was moving Tex for Casey Kotchman.

Flags fly forever. The Tigers won the World Series. This trade, technically, is EXACTLY how these deals are supposed to work. Sort of like Iginla for Nieuwendyk in the NHL. Both teams got what they were trading for.

Glen Davis for Curt Schilling, Pete Harnisch, and Steve Finley is up there. Davis was worthless, and all three players he was traded for became all-stars, and Schilling might go to the Hall of Fame.
