Sports can be like a real verion of the fellowship of the rings. A bunch of bros banding together to win and party. I read that high school sports teams have most camraderie. I never got to experience high school sports.

JV football

Just because our coach was awesome and gave no fricks, let the players run the show pretty much. It was kind of like Varsity Blues after the team ditched Bud Kilmer, only he let us do it.

I mean we werent in full control, but it was our team. He is a head coach in Dallas somewhere now. One of my old teammates still keeps up with him

High school sports were a blast. You're playing with guys you've grown up with your whole life. College was fun, but more of a job.

This is why i enjoyed JV so much

It was pretty much me and my best friends as if we all got together out in the neighborhood one day, formed a team and went out and played.

I played varsity with the same people and while it was fun and we made great memories, the fact that we had expectations we didnt meet, went 3-7 both years and went out losers made it bittersweet

Thats why JV was better. No expectations, just went out and had fun.

College was totally different. I enjoyed my college football years but apples and oranges compared to high school ball. A lot more business like. It was fun because we were ultra successful. If we didnt do all that winning it wouldnt have been as fun.

Probably the 2016 Christmas sloshball team I was on. Good mix of guys and girls, and we kicked arse.

anytime I see any of my old teammates out in town, we pick up where we left off..brothers for life

besides high school football, playing on my commands flag football team when I was stationed overseas was a ton of fun.

Sounds stereotypical but honestly thats what it was

Good times. Only drawback was that we sucked.

15/16 year old playing hockey, we had a staaaaaacked team. 1 guy on the team ended up having a brief (78 game) stint in the NHL, 3 more guys played major junior, 2 more went played Div 1 and a bunch played junior.

Lost in provincial semi-finals one year and then finals the next but was crazy fun.

My 7th grade year I played on 7th and 8th grade teams but didn't really play much on the 8th grade team. Me and a buddy would just crack jokes on the bench and had a blast. He's still a close friend of mine

That and my baseball team growing up stayed together until we all went to high school. We had the most fun. I miss it all the time. I stopped having fun when we all split and I quit. Still dumbest decision I've made

College xc

We're just all really close with each other and clicked all 4 years. I think it's because we all know were going through the same hell.

In 8th grade my school started doing boys volleyball. No one has ever played but we decided to do it. We didn't take it seriously at all and our coach didn't either and yet we ran a train on everyone we played. We didn't just go undefeated, we didn't lose a single set

The JV team i had a blast on went 6-3-1. We werent bad. We beat our rival Euless Trinity, by scoring 24 points in the last 3 minutes and recovering 2 onside kicks, 2 hail marys and 3 2 point conversions and won 31-30. At the time we were the first football team of any level at my school to beat Trinity in 6 years so it was memorable

Varsity we werent good. 3-7 both years, identical seasons, beat the same 3 teams and lost to the same 7 teams both years. It was fun, but losing sucked as it was humiliating - the student body liked to make fun at us. It wasnt so much that we were bad, more that redistricting fricked us. We got put in with the Irving and Grand Prairie schools, whom at the time, all 3 Irving Schools and South Grand Prairie were really good, plus state champ Euless Trinity and area power Coppell. If we were in the district that we played in my sophomore year we would have made the playoffs easy.

Then i went on to TCU where we lost 3 games the entire time i was there.

I bet #4 was integral to all that success at TCU, wasn't he?

We had volleyball in Jr high. I just didn't realize how fun it was until later. Wish I would have played.
