Astros during Bagwell and Biggios prime. They weren't the best in the league but they were consistently very good winning the division for almost a decade. Seemed to always get bounce by the Braves in the first round

2011 LSU doesn't count and neither does the 18-0 Pats...runs are longer than 1 year.

Early 2000s Eagles. 4 straight conference title games with only one win. Lost two of them at home. Their only Super Bowl appearance and they get the ball back down 10 with 6 minutes to go and don't go no huddle.

Yeah 97-99 three division titles, no playoff series wins.

98 may have been the best Astros team ever, but they ran into San Diego and Kevin Brown in the playoffs

Oregon recently comes to mind. They would always be near the top but every year would get upset or lose to a good team late

If only they had the pitching from the mid 2000s those years

Well they had the Unit for the second half of 98.

And then in 99 Lima and Hampton had career years.

It was never about pitching...the bats went cold every postseason.

Don't remind me of the big unit trade. Gave up so much for another first round exit

Germany soccer will be up there if they don't capitalize soon.

It's not the most disappointing, but I still think the Titans missed out by not winning a Super Bowl from 1999-2003.

Couldn't. McNabb's fat arse couldn't run the hurry up. TO was calling plays in the huddle b/c Donovan was out of breath.

No way man. Those Miami and USC teams were def. better. From what I remember, that LSU team didn't have a competent QB

it didn't. that team had a 1-dimensional and often stagnant offense that could be taken out of games by good teams

big defensive and special teams plays swung the tide of many games that year, and then we ran it up once we got the momentum

i kept telling rantards that LSU team had major issues. they wouldn't listen, even AFTER the SECCG when it was exposed for a half

then Bama eliminated any doubt

Yeah 01 Miami and 04 USC were stacked on both sides of the ball.

2011 LSU's offense was shite. Competent enough to benefit from the good field position they were afforded thanks to special teams and defense.

That defense was something else though.

It certainly was. They made big plays all night in Morgantown, and then the special teams (Claiborne) stuck the dagger in us.

I am assuming most people who think that team would be the GOAT is because of the schedule? To run through that schedule 14-0 would have been extremely impressive.

Yeah. Beat the PAC-12/Rose Bowl Champs and Big East/Orange Bowl Champs (in their house). We also beat the national champion in their house

Like SFP said, the offensive problems were always there. Only scored 17 on fricking Moo State. The first half of the SECCG was a harbringer of what was to come on 1/9. JJ looked just as bad, but Tyrann bailed us out with two big returns and UGA didn't have the depth to hang with us.
