Fedor deserves to call the shots right now. He's a living legend and has never really lost a fight. You can't say that about the other top P4P guys GSP and Anderson Silva. I honestly think he should retire after fights with Werdum and Overeem.

other than barnett, what great non-UFC HW is out there that fedor hasn't fought (or will fight)?

fedor's decisions regarding the UFC are primarily financial. it has nothing to do with being scared of opposition

A lot of you guys need to go back and watch that Rogers fight . Fedor dominated most of that fight . Rogers was in a lot more trouble then fedor was in that first round . When you think he was in trouble maybe 3 of those strikes landed and he got right out of it as usual . He's the best ever and will knock out Werdum easily tonight .

Once again Fedor is fighting a guy that makes you say........"he is pretty good, but its a fight Fedor should win". Werdum is a legit top 10 guy, but still a guy that no one is going to impressed with if Fedor beats. Is he the biggest waste of a fighter ever as far as the American public goes?

Biggest waste? No. Greatest MMA fighter to ever live at this point actually.

I am however very disappointed he is not in the UFC. I am really starting to think he has peaked and is slowly starting to decline as a fighter. I has always been somewhat "pudgy", but more so now than in his pride days.

I also think he would have a very tough time in the UFC against Lesnar and Carwin in particular. A year ago I thought he would be the favorite to beat either. Now I think the winner of Lesnar/Carwin would beat him. He would also have a tough time against Dos Santos or Valaquez though I think he would beat both one way or another through experience and strategy.

Even if he beats Werdum and Overeem (Overeem is no given), the winner of Carwin vs Lesnar then Cain vs Dos Santos faces off and the winner of that one should be considered the number 1 HW in the world.

The world cup of MMA. I wish this would happen, but it won't.

It will happen except the last part of Fedor fighting whoever wins the UFC gauntlet. It should happen, but I am not sure Fedor ever joins the UFC and rumors regarding retirement after his next two fights have started popping up more and more.

I didn't even realize there was the Cyborg fight tonight. The Fedor fight has to be the last fight on the card right?

I'm not saying any of this isn't true. I honestly don't see how fighting in the UFC isn't more beneficial to Fedor financially, but that aside. Even if it is about money, he isn't fighting the guys that I personally think can beat him for what ever reason. and it looks like he never will at this point.

not reading through all this stupid shite with lord knows who pretending to have watched Pride since its inception but Sherdog has a nice article today where Dana basically fricked Fedor out of a 7 figure tapouT deal by threatening to ban them from the UFC after he already forced RVCA to do the same thing to Fedor. PWNED

Pride forever!! Still the greatest MMA productions of all time. GP!

Anyway, yeah I read that thread. I am not as pissed at Dana as I used to be. I am still not a fan, but I am starting to appreciate his level of ruthlessness.

the financial excuse is always given but it is bullshite at this point. while fedor is prob not scared his handlers do seem to be protecting him at this point .....only risking exposing him if crazy financial demands are met.

he could make a lot in american endorsements if he is still as dominant as he was 5 years ago. but i doubt he is and it seems his mob feels the same.

The primary reason Fedor isn't fighting for the UFC is his management's insistence on co-promotion. The UFC will never agree to co-promotion with M1 Global, nor should they.
