I'm not arguing against this. I just think the past 3 years or so of his career are just complete bullshite. He's fighting guys that he has nothing to gain by fighting.

i agree he hasn't faced top competition

he's making paychecks and working on his retirement fund

but he is past his prime, so i give him somewhat of a break

Mir would be a good fight for Fedor. Mir is larger and more athletic then most of Fedors previous opponents. Everyone on my list pose a significant challenge to a smaller Fedor. Yes they arent as seasoned or well rounded as him, but they are well gifted at ground and pound except for Valasquez.

The new heavy weight division comes down to who can take down the other and land in a dominate position.

he's juiced up a ton and is certainly larger, but he's not that athletic at 270+

he looked like an oaf against carwain

plus mir doesn't have the standup to face fedor

i think this is the worst option against fedor

dude has faced gnp and dominated it

plus if fedor can make these fights go 3-5 rounds, these super HW guys will be dying

Very true, smaller HW would have to extend the fight as much as possible to negate the larger fighters. But I dont see Fedor with standing Brock or Carwins rush. Fedor vs either would end in the first round with Fedor being KO or Tap out due to punishment.

Mir is certainly better than any of the chumps Fedor has been facing. He's a legit top ten HW. He would destroy Werdum. I doubt I even watch this and I love MMA.

Though I dont agree with you about Fedor's opponents as being chumps. Mir is much more of a challenge than Silvia and Hung Man Choi.

Rodgers may one day be good but he's too green/one dimensional right now. Arlovski (love the guy), Lindland, Sylvia, and Choi are chumps. He hasn't fought anyone of consequence since Mark Hunt in 2006. At least Werdum is ranked.

Fedor is smart, he has picked opponents he knows he can beat. But now that he is with Strikeforce he can't duck tougher challengers. The more he wins, the more he must put up or shutup. I see him retiring within a year or two.

That in itself sucks. I want to see him put it on the line against Brock or Carwin.

fedor has faced better strikers than carwain (cro cop at his peak) and huge wrestlers (coleman a long time ago) and he's won every time

coleman is really old now and off the juice, but he was a monster in pride (not lesnar's level, but he was not some small guy)

A KO can come from ground and pound. I wouldn't expect Lesnar or Carwin to stand against a good striker like Fedor.

I am and will always be a Fedor fan. Hes the greatest HW MMA fighter of all time. But he maybe in the twilight of his career. Thats what I want to find out. Can he still compete with the world's best fighters.

For there to be a true representation of both Brock and Carwin versus Fedor, the fight would need to happen within two years. All three are getting up in age. It could be argued that Fedor has already reached his peak and is headed down (See the Rogers fight that he was in trouble in prior to the KO).

I'm the biggest Fedor supporter on this site, and I think that's a stretch.

Strikeforce wanted a heavyweight tournament that would see Fedor vs Overeem in the finals. That didn't happen, but it kinda did.

Fedor wins easy and then you'll see him get Alistar at the end of the year. Carwin will win easy over Brock and fight Cain next. Whoever's left standing are your two best heavyweights. Barnett make get back in the mix fighting juiced in Japan.

Say what you want, but Sylvia and Arlovski weren't washed up until they lost to Fedor. I wouldn't bet against Brett Rodgers fighting anyone in the UFC.

i mean i think carwin can clearly knock out an elephant if he lands but his striking overall is at least as terrible as Brock's and Brock should control the wrestling

I also think Lesnar could have evolved a good deal more with all this time off.

Carwin can actually wrestle and has something Brock does not.... Knock out power, and stand up skills.

Look how easy he handled a juiced up Mir. Brock is 1-1 against a lazy Mir.

If BJ penn get's Brock on his back it's over

Carwin is a D-II wrestling runner up and Champ..... not going to be easy to take down, and for the first time Brock's size advantage won't be so obvious.

And MMA fans
Sengoku Raiden Championship 13 on HDnet tonight. Supposed KO of the year candidate in there somewhere.
