He's 28, pitches to contact and doesn't walk many. Used to be a starter, but moved to the pen about two or three years ago. Reliable I guess is what you can call him...solid and reliable.

Tigers getting Michael Fullmer from the Mets is a pretty solid return.

Yeah, Fulmer will probably turn out to be better than Wheeler in the long run

Makes me nervous when a contender trades a player to you, but oh well, our bullpen couldn't be any worse.

I think Fulmer is projected more as a middle relief guy

Preller...what a dumb frick. Raped his farm system for a shite ton of trades that haven't helped. He has a chance to restock some talent and he doesn't do anything. In fact he was trying to trade for more players. What a shite show that guy is.

Every guy he was trying to trade still has years left on their deals except for Upton, who they will get a pick for anyway. Preller really had no pressure to sell it no one met his price. Now, I don't agree with him thinking they will make the playoffs, but he can still turn around and deal those guys in the offseason. His chance to restock the farm hasn't passed, yet

How long will Preller be allowed to drive the Padres into the ground?

There are a lot of writers saying there was actual meat to the Utley/Cubs thing. That could be something that can be looked at more closely next month.

Where would he play?

I'm actually excited about all the arms Detroit picked up. Their bullpen is so terrible, and their rotation too mediocre. Had to have pitching.

Not trading Upton is inexcusable. Could have gotten a couple of nice prices instead of a sandwich pick.
