Yes because I went with the favorite of the World Series before it began. Although I did say Braves in 6 after game 5

Right-hander Trevor Bauer, third baseman Nolan Arenado, outfielder Charlie Blackmon and infielder-outfielder Jurickson Profar declined to opt out of their contracts to become free agents.

Another off-season of trying to spend money around Jason Heyward’s dumb contract.

Bauer is now due to receive a lump sum of $20 million at the end of November.

Should the right-hander remain in position to do so, opting out after the 2022 season would require the Dodgers to pay a $15 million buyout. Bauer is due to earn $32 million next year and in 2023.

They paid him $28 million for the past season, owe him another $20 million by the end of the month, a year from now the Dodgers either pay him $15MM to opt out or his $32 million salary. Not bad for 17 games of work

Does anyone around here follow international baseball and can tell more about seiya Suzuki? Seems like he could end up one of the most sought after outfielders available this year

Who the frick gives Jason Heyward $184 million? That was the dumbest shite I'd ever seen.

The Texas Rangers are hiring Tim Hyers as hitting coach, sources tell ESPN. Hyers, 50, spent the last four years as the Boston Red Sox’s hitting coach and left the organization last week to pursue other opportunities. Multiple teams were interested in him, but Texas is the spot.

This is big, I wanted the Yankees to grab him

Dodgers sign Andrew Heaney

It’s an $8.5MM guarantee, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com (via Twitter).
3:37 pm: The Dodgers are signing free agent left-hander Andrew Heaney to a one-year contract, pending a physical, reports Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic (Twitter link). The deal is for more than $8MM, according to Rosenthal.

McFarland’s deal guarantees him $2.5MM, reports Jon Heyman of the MLB Network (Twitter link). The deal contains an additional $500K in incentives, per Heyman, meaning the veteran southpaw could max out at $3MM.

Thank god we pounced on bringing McFarland back. Best reliever last year after acquired. 63% groundball rate is perfect for the majors best defensive team.
