And New England won't have to pay Tennessee a dime.

This really only makes sense if the following were factors:

1. He just wanted out

2. He refused to fire the weak spots on his staff

3. He and Ran Carthon refused to work together collaboratively

It's pretty telling that this is the general consensus.

In this age, head coaches who have consecutive losing seasons and haven't won a playoff game in 5 years typically shoulder a lot of blame, but everyone seems to realize how horribly the Titans have been run lately.

I’m not sure even the titans are dumb enough to not realize how good of a coach he is. Surely he requested out

Vrabel wanted Ryan Cowden to be the next GM so when Amy went in a different direction he was pretty disappointed. I think it’s also known that he IS interested in the Patriots job should something change there. I do think he’s an above average coach.

Ryan Day better hope the Patriots hire Vrabel. Would be fun to see him at osu and the matchup of Harbaugh vs Vrabel.

Unfortunately Gene Smith doesn’t have the guts. And I’m pretty sure Vrabel hated dealing with recruiting bullshite when he was an assistant under Urban. The NIL stuff would drive him insane in today’s era.

Oh no. Maybe the Bud Adams' C U N T daughter can let him keep the Bum Phillips hat as severance.

I hate being a Titans fan. Seemed like he was handcuffed by bad GM decisions and QB mediocrity.

Stupid decision.

Why are so many assuming this was the Titan's decision and not Vrabel's? If it is Vrabel's then sounds like it was not a "stupid decision" if he was being handcuffed by bad GM decisions and QB play.

He was fired per ESPN.

I thought maybe it was mutual but Amy's press release makes it sound like she's puffing out her chest and saying it was all done in the name of offensive innovation.

Vrabel was definitely somewhat stubborn in his coordinator picks, but there's not really another candidate out there that the players would die for like Vrabel.

Amy went from backing Vrabel last year to backing Ran Carthon this year. Very worrisome.

i'm a cowboys fan, but have some fondness for the Oilers.

i enjoy the melt for Bud Adams... but not for the fans or team itself.

I just want Adams to have a ton of misery.

Watching Vrabel and Cambell tryi.g to catch McDaniel would look like a Tom & Jerry skit

Don't know why he'd want it. The roster sucks arse and when Bill leaves the post-Brady struggling will be forgotten by fans. The new coach's failures will be held up against the Superbowl seasons and dominating the division forever.

Pretty much. As a Tenn fan, ownership failed this team. The Adams don't give a shite about this team, and it shows throughout the organization. The Titans management is fubar. They will never be good as long as Amy Adams is signing paychecks.

Vrabel is almost certainly on the phone with Robert Kraft right now

You never want to be the guy that follows the legend, or in this case, tGOAT.

You do when 'The Goat' just went 4-13....

Ask Jimmy Johnson about following a washed up legend.
