Despite his early season slump, Mike Trout has quietly snuck back to the top 5 of the MLB in WAR, and is playing at an elite level in all other major batting categories. Too bad the team around him sucks. Does this give him the edge again in the Trout vs. Harper debate?

I still like Harper, Harper is going to get hot again as Trout is now and will pull the average back up to around .300

Either way you probably shouldn't try to revaluate the discussion every 3 weeks. Both are phenomenal.

I'd take trout in heart beat

He plays CF, and is a hell of a defender, you can hide bad defensive players in Right and Left, but you cannot in Center

His talent, skills, at the CF position means #1 player in any Team draft i would do.

It was like when Aroid was in his prime, his numbers from a weak arse hitting position, made him 10x more valuable.

I actually think Kershaw's the best player in baseball right now over both Harper and Trout. Pitchers really get no respect in these best player in baseball conversations. See Pedro Martinez losing the AL MVP to Pudge Rodriguez in 1999.

So the Angels are back to what they were in the days when they were called California and West Monroe's Chuck Finley was their best player?

While I think you're right, I couldn't help but do it after everyone was ready to declare Harper king over Trout after he went on a tear to start the season and Trout was slumping. Now the tables have turned but no one is talking about it.

Even though it's true that the Angels suck arse, they still always seem to beat the Astros.
