I used to listen to ESPN radio here in Dallas way more than the Ticket b/c I get really tired of all the pop culture junk they do. The fact a sports radio station actually stuck to local sports was why I liked ESPN so much.
But the last couple of years ESPN has gradually gotten rid of several local shows in favor of national simulcasts and on the remaining local shows dumped measured guys like Matt Mosley in favor of Skip Bayless style I HAVE THE OPPOSITE OPINION AND YOU ARE DUMB IF YOU DISAGREE guys like Steve Dennis which has really killed my desire to listen to that station.
Now it's mainly the Ticket, w/the occasional stop over at ESPN if Cowlishaw is talking college football (though it's nowhere near as good now that Mosley isn't there to call him out on Texas love), and The Fan if Ben and Skin are talking basketball (but I instantly flip it if they do their awful prank bits). Otherwise ESPN and The Fan are so blatantly in the pocket of the teams they cover that it's not worth fighting through a show just to potentially get a worthwhile segment.

Bayless used to be a great opionist/reporter/writer but he went to the where the money is at, I don't blame him. Collishaw has started to become that also, his article quality has deteriorated since he added ESPN. Randy is decent but ehh. IMO writers are not good radio guys they don't transfer their talents that well. Greenberg may be one of the few that has.

I just stream what I want. Bill King in the fall. In winter some stations out of Toronto or Edmonton for some hockey talk. WEEI in Boston or the Score out of Chicago. Still listen to Jim Rome, though not as much.
ESPN Radio is pretty horrible and I'll occasionally get stuck listening to M&M, but Dan Patrick comes on at 9 here and he's not that bad.
In this day and age with technology you can get what you want.

There was talk a few mths ago that Greenberg was going to get his own Sports Center like show in prime ratings hours & Golic would be teamed up with his son. Not sure if that's still in the works or not. But M&M in particular, ESPN in general, has gone hard left when it comes to social issues, and that comes from the top, ABC. As well, Greenberg's germ issues has gotten out of hand in that it comes up way too often on the air. Most recently Golic was losing it as he told the story bout Greenberg having some major landscaping work done in his yard. When one of the workers came in to use the bathroom, Greenberg, later that day, removed the toilet seat & went out & purchased another. That shite gets old, fast.
