Indians pitching coach

Don’t know much about him but I went to bed last night thinking it was gonna be Kevin Long, the Mets hitting coach, and I wasn’t very excited about that.

Pitching coaches don't make good managers..... They're historically terrible, actually... Sorry Mets fans

Excellent pitching coach for sure, maybe this is what they need with all their talented young arms

Yeah, the only pitching coach that I can recall turning out to be a good manager in recent times is Bud Black. Ray Miller was a great pitching and a disastrous manager for the Orioles. John Farrell won a World Series but I feel like he underachieved with the Red Sox. The Reds went into the tank right after they promoted Bryan Price from pitching coach to manager. Those are just examples from the top of my head. There are many other great pitching coaches who fared poorly as managers.
