Michigan State: awful sports year or good sports year

Great football season but get absolutely blasted in their biggest game of the year. Not competitive.
Great basketball season but never lead a 15 seed and Izzo suffers his most embarrassing loss in his career.
Which loss hurts more? Would you be happy with that kind of season from your schools big 2?

False.

Only thing that made this a good year for them was the most fluke play in the history of cfb.

Izzo has lost at least 5 times in the first round

I was just thinking that the sports gods have paid them back in spades.

Anything can happen in a single elimination basketball tournament. To be utterly humiliated and not belong on the same field as Bama is more damaging long term.

They had to cheat to win the CCG in football

What? Punt block is not a fluke.

It is interesting how both teams were totally exposed as total frauds once the playoffs began.
I still wish State had never been in the CFB playoffs, what a waste of a spot - thanks Michigan punter.

Well in a sense it was pretty solid. Only them and Oklahoma made the playoff and ended up as a #2 seed.

They won their conference in both major sports...

It was an awesome year. We won the conference in football and made the playoff. Even the most die hard Spartan knows we aren't on the same level as an Alabama. Sure the game was disappointing but the ride to it was phenomenal. beating osu and mich on the road was awesome. Confused how we cheated in the title game tho.
For basketball it was more bittersweet. Was an awesome team to watch all year and we were really really good. Had one frick up game and the seasons over. shite happens. As an Msu fan and alum this sports season was one of my favorites.

Yeah a single elimination tournament is a lousy way to crown a champion in basketball.
