I find it funny when people don't know jack shite about use of force and talk out their arse.
Size, gender, age, etc. definitely play a part in the amount of force an officer will and can use... if a regular sized officer is taking on a 6'5" 275lb guy and would normally use hard empty hand control, but he reasonable believes he couldn't control the subject and goes a step up to intermediate weapons, it is justified.
But, someone like you would see it as "excessive force".

This. What people like Bennett and Michael Smith and Jemele Hill cannot or will not understand is that incidents like these push people away from supporting real criminal justice reform. Your average American who may in the future serve on a state or federal jury hears about a story like this and tends to not believe the civilian and believe the cop. They do more damage than good, but they live in their millionaire privileged bubbles while the people they claim are privileged just ignore them.
