Seems that this sport is a lost art. Growing up in the 70s, there were a lot of Fastpitch Leagues. Got to see the King and his Court. Eddie Feigner was amazing. Talk about hard to hit.

My dad's team, back in the 80's had twin pitchers from New Zealand. One righty and one lefty. Both threw over 100 from 42 feet.

Dad's team also played King and his Court. Was incredible.

Saw a game once where one team had pitcher catcher and one guy in the field.

Men throw around 85, but from only 46 feet away. Risers, drops, and change ups.

I would have thought it would be closer than that to make it more comparable to baseball. Baseball is 60 feet, 6 inches, and mid 90's is nothing now.

These are probably mostly unathletic men who picked up the extremely niche sport of men's fast pitch softball.

So I'll add 5 to 10 mph to that number and say 90 mph or so.

Wasn't the lefty a huge guy? Think I remember him... Teams name?

The umpire in our slow pitch league is actually a pretty awesome fast pitch pitcher

Remember back around 1980-1982, my gramps and I would go to Park Forest in Baton Rouge and watch four or five men leagues tourney games. My uncle buck was a pitcher on one of those teams.

I worked with a guy from Missouri who played on a number of national championship teams. He's actually in the Missouri Sports HoF.

I saw him at the game held at West Monroe HS. A lot of the old modified guys I played with took part. Feigner was quite the barnstormer but was past his prime. Who was your dad? I knew all the pitchers from that era here in the Monroe area.

Didn't know your dad but knew of him. Betz was still giving lessons as of a year or two ago. Those were the glory days of Fastpitch, would have loved to seen those guys in their prime. Lot of them made the adjustment to modified but eventually the sport ran out of pitching.
