Did anyone see the outstanding throw Melky made against the Reds on Saturday?

Nothing quite like having the relay go CF to LF to backstop.

Makes Johnny Damon look like his has a cannon of an arm!

Was this like the Manny cut-off?

He lost the grip on the ball. It was funny, though.

I'd like to know what the hell Heyward was doing on that play.

He isn't even in the picture when Melky gets the ball and throws it home.

what the hell is Heyward going to do on a ball hit to left center? Its not like he knew his teammate was going to go full retard and throw the ball to him in right field. There was no *logical* reason for Heyward to even imagine doing anything productive on that play.

It just seems *logical* that instinct would have him migrate towards the ball. He actually starts that way when the ball is hit, then he just kinda disappears.

I'm not questioning his work ethic, by the way. He plays the game the right way. I'm just trying to figure out what happened to him during all of that.

He said he had moved towards the infield to backup the play.

Someone should re-create that play using the RBI Baseball game. I've made a few throws like that on accident playing that game.
