I'll never forget going to McNeese 3 or 4 years ago. McNeese fans all day ran their mouths about how they were gonna destroy SELU. We just told them it was gonna be a good game bc we thought it would. Turns out we were wrong. SLU dominated from the opening kickoff.

It actually is a cool story. I think it's hilarious the fact that McNeese is losing their grip on being the best FCS team in the state. What was supposed to be one of their better teams in the past couple years just lost for the 4th time in the last 5 years to our team in a rebuilding year (their one win was after 3 turnovers and only by 14 points).
Ron Roberts is 12-2 against in-state FCS teams, and those two loses were last year when the team was absolutely decimated with injuries.
But hey y'all almost beat Nebraska that one time in 2014...

They went undefeated last year until the playoffs. I don't think anyone thought they were going to do better than that considering they have a new coach. Congrats on your super bowl win though.

This year? What do you mean one and done? The season isn't over. They have a new coach and new quarterback no one expected them to go undefeated. Although I would say the season has been disappointing so far.

Yeah my point stands, they lost the first playoff game they played.

They were ranked #11, that shows that they had some pretty lofty expectations. They were also picked to finish second in conference by the Southland coaches and SIDs before the season, being 2-2 in conference (haven't even played UCA or Sam yet) is certainly not living up to expectations.

How many conference championships have you won?
You've gotten the best of us a few times now. As has SHSU.
I'm frustrated we aren't as good as I thought we may be, but we do have first year head coach.
But, outside of beating McNeese, what does your program have to hang it's hat on thats so much better than what McNeese has done?

In the Roberts' era we have two conference championships and a quarterfinals appearance.
I'll completely concede McNeese is historically the better program, but in the last 5 years, it is clear that we are arguably the second best Southland program (Sam is clearly #1 and UCA has an argument for #2 but they don't have a playoff win and one less conference championship).
Coach Roberts and Artigues have been making a serious effort to up our athletics and it is starting to show in football and baseball.

What a clown. A team with a first year head coach, first year starting QB, over half of its defense gone from a year ago, freshmen and first year starters all over the place was supposed to be one of our "better teams"?

This is assinine. If UCA has an argument for #2 based on those factors, so does McNeese.

No, it took some arse-clown Lions fans to get this fired up.
They've been a good team since Ron got there (I would hope so with all of their JUCO and FBS transfers), and they have definitely had out number, but acting like they pulled some huge win is ridiculous. And talking shite like they are for no reason other than to do it.

We beat a team ranked in the top 20 after getting run out of Beaumont last weekend, I would say it was a solid upset.
