Hard to believe that he is actually going to go ahead and sell the team. I thought it was all talk to get the fans off his back, much like him saying that he would allow the team to be rebuilt.

I'm SO freaking happy about this. Honestly, I don't remember the last time I was this happy about Astros news.

Thanks for saddling the Astros with the worst stadium in the history of pro sports you a-hole.

frick McClane. I used to be an Astros fan until that gimmicky stadium bastardized 50% of their games.

I wonder if one of the new group used to own a part of the Phillies. Gotta be consistent.

I'm not a Drayton fan, but things could've been worse while he was the owner. My fear is that he'll sell the team to some big cheapo owner like they've had in the past.

Not by much, he KILLED the farm system when the team decided to stop signing players they drafted for like 3 years. Ok, so it wasn't an organizational decision but it felt like it.

Fine by me. Houston can be a great sports town, but the owners have to share the passion. Hopefully the Astros will be sold to someone who wants to win.

Drayton spends money. He is just retarded as hell about the way he spends it.

He did and it was one of his fatal errors. I will give him credit for putting money back into it though.

I really disliked it when he ran off Hunsicker, hired Purpura and eventually hired Wade. Those FO moves have also hurt the organization in recent years.

I hated Drayton after he fired Gerry Hunsicker and gave the job to that loser Tim Purpura. Look what Hunsicker's done with Tampa..

Drayton tried to sell them a few weeks ago, but fell through so I'll believe this when I see it.

Agreed, the past couple of seasons have over shadowed all the success the team had. Granted they never won a World Series, but the team was horrible when he took over and they turned things around on his watch. I think his biggest mistake was not looking toward the future and destroying the farm system in order to win now.

Perhaps you are not aware they moved out of the Astrodome 10 years ago.

amazing how this has stuck with the park because of the first year, first month really it was open.
For anyone interested in facts. MM Park was #11 in HR allowed in 2009 and was in the bottom half of runs scored.

Yeah, he's watched the guys the previous GM drafted make the majors and have an impact.

For a ten year stretch, only 2-3 teams won more consistently than the Astros. Drayton OK'd bold moves, like trading for Randy Johnson and Beltran, but I'm not sure he ever intended keep either one of them. Many of their deadline deals were for players who they never intended to keep and it was to "win now" at the expense of the farm system. Ironic that when the farm system became depleted, "win now" no longer became an option.
