Uhh yes!

Great runner and excellent receiver out of the backfield. Defenses would fear the running and passing threat of Cam and Forte (as long as Cam continues to work on his passing and not throwing them high and hot over Forte's head).

Fozzy and Tolbert don't excite me, and Stewart has his injury history.

Plus, by all accounts Forte is a leader by example in the locker room and a hard worker.

Tolbert is a FB. he isn't meant to excite anyone until goalline or 3rd and short situations.

Yes - Almost every time Stewart carried the ball the thought of injury came to mind. I just kept waiting for it.

Forte is 29th all time in yards from scrimmage by RBs with 12718 yards.

RBs ahead of him on that list that haven't been elected to the HOF yet:
Tomlinson
Tiki barber
Edgerrin James
Warrick Dunn
Frank Gore
Steven Jackson
Ricky Watters
Fred Taylor
Adrian Peterson
Ottis Anderson
Corey Dillon
Roger Craig
Herschel walker
Earnest Byner

If he gets 1000 yards/season for the next 3 years, that would put him around 10-13th all time (depending on sjax, gore, and Peterson) and only behind LT (and possibly sjax, gore, and Peterson) on that list above.

All this to say that he's not there yet. But he could potentially work his way into the conversation with a few more good years.

Chris Ivory (27yr, 936 touches)

Martin really had a good year. All three have unique differences.

I'd go Martin then Ivory then Forte

Well I guess going to a young team that just made it to the SB makes sense. Glad we agree.

I'd have Ivory #3, that guy just can not stay healthy. Damn good when healthy, but the way he runs an injury is just inevitable.

If I need a missing piece, I grab Forte and run the remaining tread off of those tires on a relatively cheap contract.

He said recently he could see himself in Denver or something.

No shot. We'll spend every bit of cap space we have keeping as many of our own guys as possible. Von, Brock, Trevathan, Malik Jackson, etc.

doug is in that odd spot of his career for a RB, he feels he's entering his prime so he's going to want a longer term deal, probably 4-5 years. How many good years do you get out of that for the price?

He wants to go to a contender, that doesn't mean it's going to happen. Dallas isn't a contender but the way that division is, if Romo is healthy(big if) they can win the division. Who knows what potential contenders are in the market for a 30 year old running back.

Denver will have to let Brock walk when Peyton decides to return for a 3rd ring. Peyton will take a pay cut to $10M, would be my guess, and they will bring back the Manning offense. Get ready for a 6th MVP, an 8th first team all-pro, a 15th pro bowl, and a 3rd title.

A team struggling to fill seats would pay him a lot because he would bring the fans, regardless of his play on the field. That's why the Rams want him.
