I went and looked cause I was curious, he was dismissed from A&M due to alcohol issues. Seems like he has put that issue behind him. Said that being fired from A&M saved his life and marriage.

I've always cheered for him since he was at A&M and UL-L. He did VERY well at UL-L after having some time off. Obviously doing great at Sam already. He'll get a big gig one day.

I dont think it was ever made public why he was asked to resign. Several ideas have bounced around the baseball boards but alcohol is the most popular.

I'm not a religious person but a lot of people that suffer from addiction problems look to a higher power to help get them through it. Those who don't are probably more likely to continue to go back down the wrong path

Step 2 is the first time "God" or a "higher power" is mentioned (depending on whether it's AA or NA).
It's impossible to succeed in the program if you don't believe In something.

First ever Southland Conference team to make it to a Super. Best hitting team in the nation when he was hitting coach at UL.
He's very good. Just be prepared to run yourself into stupid outs on the base paths getting aggressive. He's going to find out what kinda arm that outfielder has!
