Clearly I disagree with you. Now try to explain it with something other than "well my opinion is obviously more valid than yours."

By all accounts, Lynch is an excellent teammate, and a laid back, humble guy. That is from people that actually know him. But you, someone who is only judging him by his media appearances

There was a report just earlier this year about him not being brought back to Seattle next season because of him not getting along with the coaching staff.

That's besides the point. Grow the frick up and answer some simple questions like a goddamn adult. This is a new thing for him. He has done media interviews in high school and at Cal and earlier in his pro career. He is just being a douche.

Deadspin nailed it. Check out this tweet they made fun of:

quote:

Once again, these are grown-arse men who are so upset that a football player won't say things like "I'm excited for the big game" and "Whichever team wants it more is going to win" that they've managed to turn an exasperated running back into America's most effective sports-media critic. Meanwhile, this happened:

quote:

Brian Murphy @murphPPress

Marshawn Lynch's tired sphinx act masks the hard truth that without the media NFL players would be playing in a parking lot for $8 an hour

Someone posted an article from last year's Superbowl about Marshawn. It sheds some light on why he's doing this. Makes sense to me.

Okay cool that cancels out everything good that has been said about him. His own head coach literally just stated that Lynch is an excellent player and teammate.

Why does it matter so much to you? I find it odd that people are getting so upset over this.

Everybody. If the media decided that they wanted to make him famous. But they chose Marshawn Lynch instead, so that's what we get, even if he doesn't choose to participate.

You don't get the absurdity of it? The media INSIST on sticking microphones in his face. Are people really saying "gee, I wonder what Marshawn Lynch thinks about....." This happens because they INSIST on creating the narrative. The media decided the story was that this guy won't talk to the media. It's fricking retarded, phony and manipulative.

You people realize that the substance of "You know why I'm here" and "I'm just here so I won't get fined" is on the same level of just about every other answer given by the players and coaches at media day right?

shite, it's actually more substantive imo then 99% of whatever comes out of an NFL coaches mouth at a press conference. I'm surprised that shite isn't pre-recorded by now.

It became outdated when the NFL created its own network to control its own publicity, and athletes decided to turn to social media to bypass the rest of the media altogether.

It doesn't matter to me personally at all. I'm not mad. That's just my opinion. It obviously pisses off the journalists and those who need to write stories and he gives them this bullshite.

I don't think it's asking much to fulfill a contractual obligation and answer a few questions about a football game. The game that gave him millions of dollars.

I understand this. I don't give a shite about what he does, and I don't care about the media being pissed. What I can't wrap my head around is that some people seem to think he's a hero b/c he's being an attention whore by trolling the media. If he really didn't want to deal with the media, he'd give the canned responses and go on his way.
