While he was a great colleg QB, why do so many think he will be a good/franchise NFL QB?

He is basically a smaller, weaker but quicker Tim Tebow. And everybody with a brain knew Tebow could't make it as an NFL QB.

So, why again, will JFF be anything other than a bust?

Most people don't think he will be a franchise QB.

Much better passer than Tebow, but I don't think his "scramble first, pass second" method will work in the NFL.

He relied on his arm a hell of a lot more than Tebow did. He can actually throw the ball

He threw for 4,114 yards last season and 37 tds. The most yards tebow ever threw for was 3,286 as a sophmore. 2,895 as a senior

Other than being incredibly popular JFF and Tebow have nothing in common. Tebow had a sloooooow release and couldn't throw running to his right.

He's nothing like Tim Tebow. Best current pro that comes close to him at this early point is Mike Vick. Even with that said, Manziel is a more accurate passer than Vick was coming out of college.

Is he?

Not being sarcastic but the only 2 JFF games I really paid attention to were the 2 LSU games when he looked much worse than Tebow ever did throwing the ball.

Yes.

Well there ya go. You've only seen two games.

I mean shite. Just watch his technique. Doesn't take a QB coach to see the flaws with Tebow.

More curious question is why people seem to think Carr is going to be great in the NFL.

Like my Raiders.

Dude sucks...throws off his back foot falling away everytime, makes horrible decisions, stunk it up against the 1 non-Wac team he played against - and seems to have memorized "The Art of the Jump Ball" by Shoelace.

A shot at what? Tebow could still be in the league if he made the switch to tight end or something. Hell, the CFL was willing to let him play QB.

The dude isn't an NFL QB. Plain & simple.

Im excited for Ngata to power slam him.
I want to see if he gets up after it.

But I think Manziel will be just fine in Cleveland

Manziel has too weak of an arm to play in Cleveland and in that division.

I was preaching this, along with countless others, from the very beginning. Tebow is an athlete. I believe he would be successful as a TE. A Dallas Clark type (would have to see his hands before going any further with that comparison).

He does remind me a little of Fran Tarkenton, but a much better scrambler. The knock on JFF is his accuracy in the pocket. That was also the knock on Steve Young early in his career.

I kind of compare JFF to Reggie Bush, both were the most dynamic players while they were in college, but the overall speed of the league negated Bush's outside running.

JFF didn't do very well in two games against LSU's defense, which has comparable speed to NFL defenses.

I don't think he's going to be scrambling as much in the NFL as he did in college. I think an NFL offensive coordinator and quarterback coach is going to help him with dropping in the pocket. They don't him to end up like RGIII
