Having discussion with some friends and we were split on if Manu Ginobili is HOF or not.

Career 14 3 and 3
44%
27 min per game
2 time all star
4 championships

I said no way. What is your guys opinion on this?

You have to be generally loosely associated with basketball to get in. It's super easy to get in to the basketball HoF.

Yes. He will get in. Extremely easily.

easily, manu didnt play the minutes of the big SG while he was in the league man 05-08 manu on a per minute basis was as good as anyone, at his peak he was seriously the best SG not named kobe. The gold medal is just icing.

If anything, you have this backwards

Both will be HoF'ers, though.

I mean, his biggest HOF claim is his gold medal. I'm not saying he isnt a HOF player. Just that he isn't a lock, like Tony parker

Tony parker is a definite lock. Finals MVP, 3 time all nba, 6 time all star. Multiple euro players of the year. He's a lock

Manu never got minutes but look at his per 36 and compare them to someone like dwyane wade and then remember that manu was the third option on some really good teams. The guy was probably 25-6-5 or something close per 36 in his prime while hitting a high percentage from the field and line. Wade was the franchise player, was mediocre at the line, but still wade was unbelievable, not to take anything away, but manu was never a guy to bitch about minutes or stats, the ultimate team player. He could have easily left the spurs and been featured somewhere else.

Then remember he was like pick 55 or 56 out of 58 in the NBA draft where most guys picked that late dont even make the squad much less contribute....
