They say over 21k showed up. I dont know about that, but it was a good win. Any win is good considering ULM has the lowest recruiting budget of any D1 school (around 55k yearly). CenturyLink should open up that wallet and help them out.

You would think Century Link would be way more involved.
Its a shame a little ole local pizza guy does more than they do.

They said during a game on tv a few years ago that todd berry can't even get on an airplane to go visit a recruit.

Saturday at 6. A good crowd was expected (over 40,000) but at last check there was a 90% chance of rain Saturday evening. That'll probably keep some folks home.
UL-L fans starting to sound like LSU fan. Who they play?

That is crazy but he really doesn't have to. There is enough talent in north la, southern arky, east texas, and central ms that is all in driving distance.

That's because they are, or were 3 years ago.

An ugly win is still a win. The lack of community/business support is embarrassing.

I agree. A lot of older "fans" still bitch and moan about the move up to D1 and the name change.

the athletics department here really is in a bad place financially. if we could get a better booster club put together that would be fantastic.

Grambling is always a huge draw, 30K plus. I think it only holds 31-32K

I was a student during the name/mascot change years. Those were dark days my friend.

They beat Kentucky, Miss Sate, and Bama during that time, though. Then they would lose to the shittiest team in the conference a week later. I went to school there during the name change. The mascot change came a few years later.

Anyone notice this game isn't on ESPN scoreboard? ESPN Hates ULM?

We had to get a new university president for that to happen. There were business/community leaders who had approached Authement in both the 80's and 90's about an RCAF. Old bastard hated athletics.

Wasn't until the new president came in 2006, then immediately, we were able to start the athletic foundation.

If Authement were still in charge, we'd have never gotten Hud or Bob Marlin, and Coach Robi would have been smart to tell his son to pitch elsewhere as the entire athletic department would be a bankrupt wasteland.
