The states Mid Am golf championship is taking place this week (Friday - Sunday) @ TPC Louisiana. For those not familiar, the Mid Am is open to amateurs 25 and older.

Curious if any of the regular posters are playing?

Who's the favorite? I'll take Patrick Christovich.

Opted for Money Hill 4-ball over this...yes, I know they aren't the same weekend but my tournament money is limited.

Played today. Course is decent and playing short. I will say -5 will win.

I'm with you. Scores will be higher once the first tee goes in the ground. But I do see someone shooting -9 to win.

I played today too. Decent shape. Greens were OK, but I was told they hadn't been rolled recently. They're expecting to get them in the 11-12 range by Friday.

I'd be surprised if double digits under par won. I expect more like 6-8 under. Maybe I'm underestimating some of the better players, but I just don't think it's that easy out there. However, I'm just hoping to have a chance to make the cut, so I could be completely off.

I also played today as well, but not in the tournament.

However, I'm pretty sure the three people in front of us were prepping to play in this event. I accidentally hit into the #7 green from what I thought was 268 yards away, according to my rangefinder. Clearly that was not the case since I can't hit my 3wood more than 240, and even then, it would have to be FLUSHED. These three guys were still on the green, and when I hit the ball, I assumed I was in the bunker short of the green. When I got up to the green I realized that my ball was on the green, and I HAD to have come close to drilling those guys.

Anyway, I apologized to the guys when I caught up to them between 8 and 9, but they didn't seem to wanna hear any of that shite. Well, if you were in that group, I want to apologize once again. Im glad nobody got hurt, and I hope I didn't frick up your round from that point.
