I dropped the ball on the weekend thread. Couldn't update scores enough and whatnot so I (tried) to bail out gracefully.

Thanks for putting this together guys.

Big weekend series between SLU vs ULL this weekend should be fun. Hopefully SLU takes care of business in all 4 of their games against the Sun Belt this week and bumps that RPI into the low forties.

This is a gigantic week for Southeastern. USA has the #13 RPI right now and is undefeated in conference play. They have a chance at 2 top 25 RPI road games and two top 25 RPI home games. If you want to get that RPI boost, this is the week you need to pick up some wins.

SLU gets no respect. I understand the RPI issue but a 15 or 16 game win streak that included wins at Southern Miss, Tulane, and Southern alabaa, but hopefully they continue playing strong and show up vs the Cajuns.

Southern Bama wants a rematch and ULL sleeps on SELU. Then go to Alex Box vs volatile Tigers.

This has turned out to be an interesting season all around.

Southeastern gets plenty of respect. RPI doesn't have human input and I can assure you that the Cajuns aren't going to overlook Southeastern. If the Lions take the series, it'll be because they're the better team. That SLU pitching staff is no joke.

Maybe around here but no votes for top 25. I think we have better coaching and talent than Tulane but they are getting votes.

And i thought we were too young in our bullpen. They have showed up.

Tulane still has a national name. They start out most seasons ranked or close to being ranked. They have a solid team this year, though.

Not that this is unusual but there is big-time state competition this year.

Yeah, 6 top-75 RPI teams in state. That's really good for the top tier teams as we get to play all these midweek games that have positive RPI ramifications instead of playing a bunch of 150+ RPI teams like in some past years. Cajuns have scheduled really well for RPI this season

Do you have access to any power ranking for conferences? That has to be a factor in RPI algorithm.

Just the one from Warren Nolan. Has the Sun Belt at 11 and Southland at 12. LINK

It's frustrating I agree, but kind of irrelevant as long as we take care of business and get to 40 wins again and don't suck up the conference tournament.

It's going to be a pitching duel this weekend, I can't wait.

thats the problem every single year. We did get snubbed a couple times when making it to sem-final and had near 40 wins.

2009 went 37-22, (20-12) and 2-2 in the tournament.
2010 went 40-19, (21-12) but shite in the tournament.
2012 went 39-21, (20-13) and 3-2 in the tournament.
2013 went 36-24, (16-11) and 3-2 in the tournament.
2014 went 38-25, (18-12) made regionals
2015 went 42-17, (25-5) but 1-2 in tournament but bid.

Aside from the early tourney, the Cajuns didn't schedule anyone good ooc (although S Eastern is turning out that way). They just didn't schedule anyone who is bad, which is always the key to RPI.

Wish SLU would take this approach and keep the Jackson States and Alcorns off the schedule (I'll let Southern slide since it's a 45 minute drive in-state). Nothing beneficial beating a team by 20 and having your RPI drop by 15 spots.

Well that's debatable, a couple of head to head midweek games doesn't tell the whole story. Tulane has better wins, like @ LSU, vs ULL, 2 of 3 from ECU
