For those who watched his prediction, did you happen to catch who Holtz happened to say was the ND defensive coordination? He said "Sununu", as in former Chief of Staff to Bush 41, John Sununu. For someone that close to the program, you would think that he would know his name is Jon Tenuta.

this was posted earlier on more sports board but ill say it again... due to Lou Holtz' retarded remarks concerning Notre Dame, if I see Lou Holtz in real life I will punch him in the face. Also because he is such an idiot, I retract his status as a great coach. He is too dumb to have accomplished what he accomplished. No respect for Lou Holtz

you're dumb. ESPN DOES NOT ask him to pick Notre Dame to win, he does because he coached Notre Dame.

To remain credible, at some point don't they have to tell the old man to just not comment about Notre Dame, at all?

Notre Dame is 29-21 under Charlie Weiss, 0-1 under the interim coach Ken Baer, and 21-15 under Willingham. Going back through Davie, who was 35-25, Notre Dame is 85-62 over 12 seasons. That's an average of 7-5. To put it in perspective, Ole Miss, over the same period of time is 77-66, for an average of 6.4-5.5. The difference is 0.5 games/season, and Notre Dame is being hyped (by a former Notre Dame coach) AGAIN as the best thing since sliced bread.

You have to be kidding. This guy is senile and needs to be kicked off ESPN. He brings nothing to the table.

he really isn't being serious, it is just the character he is playing. he is successful b/c everyone in this thread is talking about him, mission accomplished.

There are thousands of college boys who wait every week to see what he will say, so that they can run to a computer and tell everyone he is an idiot.

Remember, bad publicity is better than no publicity. Corso went/goes through this also, yet that show has a monopoly on the ratings.

Some of you are obviously very young geeks. It is just a joke. He is one of the most accomplished coaches in college football history and 99% of you will never do half as much with your life and he has his.

I know its for entertainment, but I don't watch ESPN to listen to these outlandish predictions of ND playing in the national championship. ESPN just makes a complete mockery of the guy. And despite his legendary status in college football I still hate him and think he should not be allowed on television.

Jon Tenuta is not the D coordinator of Notre Dame. He's LB coach and Head defensive Coach. Another guy is D Coordinator.
