I think so. He was one of the best kickers in the NFL for 17 years. That's a long time to never have to worry about getting another kicker.
Plus to me Sebastian Janikowski is the most Raider guy in raider history. Through great teams, through terrible teams, and good teams, and through-out years of changes in the raiders organization Janakowski was always there.

I went to the Jax Intenational airport right after a raiders/jags game to fly out to Cleveland to visit family, I was like 12. The Jags just whooped the raiders arse, and I was walking down the terminal. Next thing I know, the entire raiders team was walking down the terminal. I saw Jamarcus Russel, and went and asked for his autograph, and he whispered in his security guards ear, who then turned to me and said "Mr. Russel does not wish to sign anything for you right now". frick that guy. Anyways As I'm walking down the terminal I here a bunch of shouting from a bunch of older guys in raiders stuff at a bar. Then I see Sebastian at a bar in the terminal, surrounded by coaches, with four double shots lined up and downed them all. And they started shouting and cheering him on again, so it wasn't the first rounds lol.
He's my favorite kicker of all time. The beer gut, his history, how he embraces it. One of the Goat Raiders.

More isolated stats?

Again, it's game situation and scenario and offense and defense - what's happening when.

Anybody who watched the Raiders from 2005-2010 knew Jano was their entire offense.

So you are a match made in heaven with Kobe fan stat nerd who lacks context for said stats but purports to provide insight of which you know nothing about - except for shite you looked up on Pro.Football.Stats.

Congrats, you have the internet. That's all you've proven. You barely watched a Raider game in your life last decade. Considering how many 1st round picks turn out to be pieces of shite, Jano was certainly worthy and has proven it over the years as one of the best kickers in the game and for carrying the team for years when they couldn't score on offense.

he was

scored from very very deep.

and very good from 40.

solid pick.

Jamarcus was the worst first rounder Oakland/Los Angeles/LV ever picked.
fie upon his agent. I rue the day he held out.

You are a poser. I don't give a shite about your opinion.
Yet you keep responding.

All you've proven is that you're a Raider homer and can't discuss Janikowski objectively.

ETA: Also, the "isolated stats" are for Janikowski's benefit. If I included all of the guys with shorter and ongoing careers, he would be even further down that list. I thought it was only fair to reduce the sample size to guys that were in the league for a long time.

ETA2: Speaking of isolated stats...

Janikowski is also the Raiders’ all-time leading scorer.
A kicker is the leading scorer for 30 of the 32 NFL teams. Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice are the exceptions.

That fat frick carried the Raiders for many years when the offense sucked so bad they couldn't get past the 30 yard line.

We still talking about a Kicker?

Yeah...

If you knew the Raiders back when and their offense.

But apparently there are about two or three Raider fans on here who can speak about Jano...

But everyone else wants to chime in just looking at Profootballstats.com

Stover > Janikowski

Simple question for football wizard MBI, is Matt Stover worth a first round pick?

Jano has been proven to be worth a 1st round pick. Easily.

Ray Guy was totally worth a 1st round pick.

Shane Lechler would have been worth it too.

JaMarcus Russell was worth a 6th round pick...or not even that. If we are bitching about Raider picks.

Why does a K apply to a team's shitty offense? He's not on the field with them.

Gostowski kicked 24 FGs in 2007 with New England. The next year with shitty Matt Cassell? 40 FGs attempted.

Matt Prater kicked 32 FGs with Tim Tebow. He didn't eclipse that number until just this last season in Detroit.

If anything, Having a poor offense gives the K more chances to kick. Why does this hurt Jano in your opinion?

Stover > Janikowski

Yep.

I only mentioned Hanson because he was also drafted high (2nd round), also played for shitty teams his whole career (fewer playoff games than Janikowski) and also took a ton of 50+ yd FG attempts (better % made than Janikowski).

However, no one ever bothers arguing for Hanson's draft position or HOF candidacy.

None of the other kickers do. Janikowski gets the pub because he had a huge leg, not because he was better.

And they sucked, so maybe a kicker with a big leg wasn't that important.

Dan Bailey is worth at least a 3rd or 4th. I don't about Janikowski

Jano also has obnoxious Raiders fans to take his side no matter how asinine the argument. If his owner wasn't Al Davis, he should've been cut earlier into his career. He ended up having some great seasons after struggling early.

Nobody cares about a K in Jacksonville, Detroit, ATL (Matt Bryant has had a hell of a career as well). But Oakland fans will try to claim to whatever relevancy they have or had now.

In a league where games are decided by 6 or less regularly? On a team which for years could not move the ball effectively into the end zone?
