It's just annoying. Remember PP's INT (or lack thereof) from a few weeks ago?

Pretend:

1. It was the NCG, instead of a reg season game against Bama

2. There was 2 minutes left, and Bama was down by 3 with one TO left, instead of being up 6 with 10 (?) minutes left. The missed call allowed Bama to kick the game-tying FG to send it into OT.

3. The OT went the way Miami/OSU did, with LSU being the beneficiary of a questionable (not even terrible/bad, according to every source that matters, just iffy)PI call that extended the game. They eventually won.

4. For the next 7 years (and the forseeable future) every time the NC LSU won was brought up, fans (both from Alabama and the rest of the college football world) would argue it wasn't legitimate. Yet nobody seemed to remember the bad call on the PP INT.

LSU fans would be going crazy.

That's basically what happened when they said Gamble's catch was incomplete, and we had to punt it away.

Even if you believe he didn't catch it, the holding was undeniable.

but A&M showed what a running QB can do against that D

While both are QB's that can run, their running styles are not really the same. Tebow runs like a FB.

Tebow will probably be the best passer Texas will see all year.

If you're hanging your hopes on what Arkansas was able to do against Florida,

Not hanging hopes on anything, but If Arkansas, with little or no running game can hang 20 in the swamp, Texas with much better talent on O can score, let down game or no, Florida/Bama D's while good are not the 85 Bears. You're kind of making it sound like Texas would be lucky to get 3 points and 100 yds on O.

Look what Oklahoma's D did. I'd expect the two SEC defenses to be even more opportunistic.

and you can't pin hopes on one game. Texas-OU is a big rivalry game. Look how Bama did against their big rivals, Tenn and Auburn. Both games came down to the last play. OU has talent on D. That game was their season this year.

If they could establish any semblance of a running game, even after establishing the pass, but one-dimensionally, it's not gonna' happen.

Define semblance of a a running game? You make it sound like they can't get 2 yds on the ground. The crappiest offense in the SEC ran for 95 on Bama and 66 on Florida.

Alabama will be heavily favored and probably win.

The last 2 weeks should show that you can't just look at one or 2 games. This week Bama looked like an unbeatable team for the ages, last week they struggled to beat a mediocre Auburn. What happens a month from now? Who knows?

I know what you mean. I was on the first page (13th) in the Pick em, and I don't think I won a single pick today.

I just have a shite ton of confidence in Saban, the SEC, and an opponent that can't run the football.

McCoy is going to need therapy before, during, and after that game.

Saban is a great coach, so that is understandable.

The SEC is not playing in this game, Alabama is.

Unless they are playing the 85 Bears, that;s a bit of an overstatement.

Remember for the next month Alabama is going to here how they are going to crush Texas, they can't be beat etc. While Texas will hear they have no chance, shouldn't bother showing up yada, yada. That can have an affect.

Completely agree there. Same thing they heard about 4 years ago, albeit not so much of an underdog. And you can bet Mack will play it up.

I am still stunned at what happened in the ATL today. Not that Bama won, but the way it went down.

Jesus, what is your hangup with the SEC references and the 85 Bears?

The SEC champion, which happens to be Bama this year, has historically done halfway decent in title games. Name the last SEC champ to lose a title game.

The '85 Bears were beat by the Dolphins, they were very good, but Marino, Duper, and Clayton took 'em down. They still won the SuperBowl. And I'm certain that's not going to have a thing to do with Bama's defense, and Texas' inability to move the ball on them, unless of course you're comparing McCoy to Marino.

You don't seem to want to give Bama much credit, or take anything away from Texas or McCoy. I'm familiar with David and Goliath Syndrome, we see it happen all the time. I can even recall Bama being David back in '92, but this time it looks like it's their turn to be Goliath.

And what that story doesn't tell you is that the Goliaths beat the shite out of the Davids many times for that story to be told.
