The allstar game was more important than his team. That was one of the worst all-star performances of all time. How do you go 6\20 with nobody gaurding you.

His team should want to shut him down

His shooting arm must not be hurt, but likely sore after jacking it up 20 times..

I'm confused about this whole "shut it down" situation...probably because I haven't paid it any attention. BUT...

What's injured on him? I've seen him limp a bit, is it his leg? Knowing how sports work, there's no way he's actually injured if they have him running around on a bumbed tire. If there is any chance to further injure it, his arse would be on the bench, no?

So what's with the shutdown? He's talked about regrouping and whatnot but seems he's referring to just the season and team in general...? The hell kind of player does this when they dedicate and rededicate themselves to a franchise? Dude should have left. You can't bail on a bad team(he can't even mold his game to super valuable to said team anyways) just because the season isn't going your way. Why is he so definite about shutting it down, he might be healthy in 4 weeks. And oh yeah, he's healthy enough to chop it up in the damn allstar game

Stats and analytics(lol) might say otherwise, but you can't win with this guy on your basketball team.

They're 10-43. Why should he play? Why would they want him to play?

No, not really. If playing can lead to more damage, you sit. If you're just hurting or can't cause further injury, you play if the pain isn't too much.

C'mon now. You can't have leaders of a team taking off half a season(after playing injured in the all-star game) simply because the team is a lost cause. Who the hell wants to dish Anthony the ball in 2016 when he abandoned them in 2015?

Not if the team sucks and you and the front office would be better off with you sitting.

There's probably only 3 dudes left on that team who give a shite and that's only because they're playing to make a roster next year. I'm sure Langston Galloway will get over being "abandoned" by Carmelo.

Have you heard of this crazy thing called the draft lottery? They just paid Amare Stoudemire to go play somewhere else

Here is my problem. I hate his game and personally think it's insane for the front office to include him in any moves or thoughts moving forward. Not only do I think he should be treated as just another pretty good basketball player, I see him as a detriment to any team serious about winning championships.....at his price at least.

So fricking what? This the 1st season some of yall have watched the NBA?
The team is paying people to go away. The team doesn't want to win so why should they care if he's getting paid to do nothing.

Look, this might have been naive, but when he decided to go back to the Knicks, I saw it as a perfect opportunity for him to clean up his game, increase his efficiency, and be that guy who they could count on and build around in order to take the next step. For Christ's sake, it's literally ALL he talked about during his free agency. Win win win.

Now, not only does it look like that'll never happen, it seems like he's even more inclined to "get his" and be selfish for his remaining productive years. I'm just so tired of him. Dude has/had everything you need to compete with Lebron, Rose, and all the other guys for dominant player and team in the East.

And that's produced a 10-43 start so time to sit down and hope we can win the lottery - Knicks front office

Is basketball better when the Knicks are strong? Not sure I'm even old enough to know what it's like. But I'm gettin' to where I'm ready to see the Celtics and Lakers compete again. ESPN would be unbearable, but it's more fun IMO.
