Ya but only because you were drunk. That kid would have never caught that ball hammered.

Yeah. That's still a homerun.

This same thing happened in MLB a week or so ago, as someone else posted.

It's an out as long as it's caught before going over the fence.

If they hopped over the fence and then caught it, it's a HR, if they catch it and their momentum carries them over the fence, it's an out. Assuming they hold on to the ball.

Disagree with the rule all you want, but it's the rule.

Same thing with foul territory and the dugout, if you catch the ball and then fall into the dugout (or go flying into the stands Derek Jeter-style) then it's an out. If you go into the dugout or stands then catch the ball, no catch, just a foul ball.

What about a foul ball caught in the dugout or over the wall into the stands?

both are considered "out of play" if the ball goes into them. So it should also be ruled not a catch.

Rules say that you cant go in dugout to catch a ball, yet you can leap and never touch ground and fall into dugout and its a catch. Makes no sense.
But it really doesnt bother me because some of the best plays in the game come from this

It's like the old NBA timeout in the air before you land out of bounds play.
