bullshite! It's about protecting businesses from being sued by players who know damn good and well that constantly smashing their heads against may be hazardous to their health. In fact, if the cared enough to read they would see a sticker on their helmet explaining just that. EVERYONE who plays football knows exactly what they're getting into.

It's also about protecting quarterbacks from any damage. While some may dislike that part of it, I guarantee you would hate football more if your team suddenly sucked because the most important player went down to a leg injury after a hit that was avoidable

Well, you've disincentivized hitting above the waist. Even inadvertent "head to head" contact is being penalized or at minimum, scrutinized. So where do you thing defenders will start hitting ball carries? The only place where at this point they still can, below the waist.

Gotcha. Yea I'm trying to predict the future. A future I hope doesn't come true, but a future I very much see coming to fruition.

an over pussified football will bring in less viewers.

I disagree. Yeah people like the hard hits, but what has made Football the center of weekend life in America is the excitement (and that's why they play the games) and the rivalry (same reason America cares about Women's soccer and gymnastics, we like lording our superiority over others, it's human nature).

You know who complains about the pussification of football? People that see it because they are still watching games. The threat to the talent pool at the High School level is a much better argument against Football's future than the rule changes will become so drastic people will stop watching.

Interesting take. Will boxing, kicboxing, muay thai, MMA, etc. be outlawed too?

I don't think it will come to 'outlawing', middle school parents will stop encouraging and letting their kids play, and it will cut off the stream of talent that high schools and colleges depend on to maintain viable programs. (at least on the wide scale).

That's one of the differences between football and the combat sports you mention -- they don't depend on starting kids as 8-year olds, and keeping them in the sport continuously in order to have the talent on your team at 20-22.

Don't these high school kids sign waivers? How can they be winning these judgements? Isn't there insurance in place from the districts to cover these kids?

Majority of the NFL players and big time college prospects are kids that come from nothing and risk it all. The people who would be pulling kids in your mind kids don't make it past high school or college walkons in percentages that would effect the stream.

The stream won't cut off until the money for making it cuts off and that won't happen.
