aven't seen them this year so not sure of 10 yard shotgun. I'd think they still run their offense.

They don't run the ball as well as they have in the past.... they always run the ball much better than people give them credit for.. regardless of the formation.

I can't decide if I'm making the 30 minutes drive for this one OR the 2hr+ drive to see Teurlings take on McDonogh

I highly suggest going to see the Carlos Henderson show down in NOLA. He's a special player and I don't think Teurlings has an answer for him

where do you get film on ouachita at? why would you watch film on Ouachita 4 times? where do you watch them practice? you drive all the way up there?

what you folks in nola never seem to realize is there is awfully good football outside of new orleans...

naw. this will be a tough game. WM, Evangel, and even Ouachita are about the only 3 northern teams that have ever scared me.

He's been unbelievable in the playoffs and he gave Karr fits when they played earlier this season

coaches... ask me to watch film and games.

there was a decade plus where ruston and neville owned la... one of the best LA teams ever to take the field was another NLA team that hasn't been a factor in many many years....

I know people at just about every school in the state.. and I am on the road now and then...

why i don't coach... or coach as a profession... hunting > than football to me..

one of the biggest upsets so far in this years playoffs... is a coach I am friends with... and that is no coincidence.

and FWIW.. I think DW for rummel is one of the best all around football players in LA this year.

Im not trying to be a smartass. Was just genuinely curious why someone would watch film on Ouachita 4 times, they haven't played anyone from the south this year....or why someone would drive to watch them practice to each his own

had other reason's to be there.... I am also pretty tight with a handfull of college coaches...

and IMHO... the best team rummel had prior to this year... got beat by... one of those north la teams you aren't afraid of... but that was an awfully long time ago.. and the current coaches pop was coaching.

and truth be told my biggest beef with the catholic league...is their involvement with the change in play up rules....

they jumped on the band wagon to help push that through.. the classes below 4A did not want it..
but the catholic league was tired of evangel and feared curtis wanting in their district....so.. they piled on and made it happen.. then along came katrina and brutally disrupted enrollement at 3 catholic schools.....then the catholic league was no more...

then they wanted play up.. but only if it didn't affect them... so pawn of Curtis and ECA on smaller schools...

if any schools have the numbers, depth and resources to deal with ECA and JC it is 5A... JC and ECA belong in 3a,2a or even 1A about like LSU belongs in CUSA...

and yeah a 4A principal got that ball rolling.... but he needed 5A principals to push it through... and last years vote was simply 3A vs everyone else when the two "bad guys" could be dumped into one class...

Are you referring to the West Monroe-Rummel finals a few years ago?

i think they've had better teams than this year.

1999, 2000 and 2001.

relative to the rest of the state though, this team is strong.

overall lack of team speed did in 2000... plus they replayed the first meeting.... with their westbank friends... Shaw knew right where to hit 2nd time around...

Shaw was a powerhouse that year too. The same way they lost to St Aug in the playoffs the year before. they won both regular season matchups againt both teams

awfully hard to beat people like that twice......shaw and sa were AWFULLY good that year.. but.. WM was better.....and an early PF penalty took a lot of the sting out of shaw....in finals..

that was an awfully talented SA team that got manhandled in the semis

I don't think shaw left the city in their trek to the finals that year...

Any talk recently of beginning a Super Class for 5A and Curtis, Evangel, Calvary and anyone else that thinks they can compete?

No... LA is a small state.. many still think 5 classes is too many. ECA and JC should play up as far as they want too..

if private or "selective" enrollment schools win all 5 state titles.. may be more calls for a split....
