Yes I'm a Winnfield homer, but EHS really has no chance this week. I've seen both teams play in person and this is the best Winnfield team i've seen in a long long time

Never said it was a blowout. Winnfield just had Episcopal beat on both sides. I don't remember ever really being worried about the outcome of that game.

I have not seen Episcopal play this year, so I can't say that I think its over before the game ever starts. But I believe they would have had to improve a ton this year to keep up with how much Winnfield improved (especially on defense)

Jesuit never has to get on a bus for longer than 30 minutes to make it to the Dome. I think IF they get by Carencro, that will be the reason they beat Byrd. How far is it from Shreveport to NOLA? 6 hours on a bus? Advantage Blue Jays

a well trained and prepared team will make the trip to an opponent and not feel the strain. if wm can defend the pass and get the offense to play error free i like their chances against barbe.

I think Rummel upsets Byrd. Then Jesuit whips Rummel's arse for the 2nd time this season on their way to the Dome.

Given the score of that game, i think it was obvious that west monroe was just too good. West monroe could have traveled from chicago to that game and would have still won it.

Home field advantage would go out the window against rummel. There would be a revenge factor too, plus rummel playing on an emotional high, after no one gave them a chance to get this far, could be dangerous.

Gotta get past carencro first anyway

Huge difference. WM typically gets to NOLA Thursday night or Friday morning and spends a night or two there before the title game. I doubt Byrd leaves before Friday morning if they play Jesuit next week.

West Monroe has been there, done that. The coaches have the schedule down perfect. It really doesn't matter where WM plays honestly. My post on the WM site was basically just coach speak. If I thought WM had a legit chance of losing I wouldn't be going to River Oaks' state championship game in Jackson instead.

A lot of people, myself included, thought they would lose to Acadiana last week.

I was just joshin'. I like Jesuit's chances regardless. Just solid all around.

I would favor Rummel this week if they weren't making that long arse trip. Where I think that road trip will get Byrd to the semis, I think the same trip will be their downfall the next week. That's why I think Ruston loses against Mandeville too

Yea. They are 10-1. Only loss was to Jesuit. Game was closer that final score

That was my thinking as well. I would imagine teams that get to the finals get to new orleans well in advance, so the fatigue of a long bus ride isnt a factor. I dont think byrd would leave for the semis until the morning of.

I tell you what I'm happy about: Winnfield hosts Episcopal Friday night. I get to watch the LSU Tigers skull drag the Hogs that afternoon (while eating grilled venison steaks) and then travel .4 miles to watch the Winnfield Tigers take on a good Episcopal team that night. Gonna be a great day!

Here's to what I hope are two well played, and well fought games. I'll be cheering for The Tigers and Episcopal from Baton Rouge. Good luck to Winnfield, but I'm pulling for the Knights to give 'em hell. This is the strongest team I've ever seen my alma mater have. If you can, start a thread and update the score every once in a while.
