Did you happen to catch what Uhigh did to the #4 team in the state?

Glass - you’re banned from any Newman parties I host. I want sunshine and rainbows...and no pumping up CD.

CD moved game to a Saturday....I’m ready for that bus ride home from Crowley...regardless of the results I’m still not a damn Cajun which is a win.

There has been speculation that Shaw, which has not posted a winning record since rejoining the Catholic League in 2013, may elect to play in a Class 4A district against area teams of similar size.

I don’t see that happening under any circumstance.

The Marrero school is in a district of faith-based schools, five of which share their Catholic beliefs. They are under the umbrella of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, which has many schools run by religious orders.

The district is well organized as a business and its members have an amicable, professional relationship. Most are usually on the same page when making decisions.

If Shaw were to drop down, it would be placed in a district whose members might not have Shaw’s best interests at heart.

There likely will be two local Class 4A districts. One will include Edna Karr, Landry-Walker, Helen Cox, Warren Easton, McMain and Belle Chasse.

The other likely will include Carver, Kennedy (at Lake Area), McDonogh 35, Riverdale and Ben Franklin, which doesn’t compete for district honors in football.

If the Shaw administration has any question about what to expect with such a move, it needs to ask Archbishop Hannan athletic director Joe Hines.

When Hines was the AD at De La Salle in a similar public school district, he had to volunteer to be the district chairman every year in order to have the business of the district run smoothly.

I am confident that the Shaw administration will choose to remain in the Catholic League beyond Nov. 7. Although the football program may continue to battle the odds until enrollment improves, there are more reasons to remain in a district that will give the school some financial support through attendance at sporting events, as well camaraderie in a Catholic partners

Rummel was holding their own, and got stupid in the second half. Unfortunately, Jay was outcoached...

If they happen to meet up again, hopefully Rummel corrects it..

That was pretty dirty. Hopefully that player was thrown out of the game (if that was even caught by the officials ) I was not at that game, so I can’t comment on if that was an isolated incident or not

Should be a good physical game tomorrow

Zachary should win, they have the better team and Acadiana is really young. I just don’t think that a lopsided win 6 years ago will have any bearing in this game and if any team should be playing with a chip on its shoulder it should be Acadiana. Zachary will be too much IMHO and last game I gave Zachary their props but they took their coaches challenge to be the more physical team a bit over the top with two players for Acadiana coming out for being eye poked and a RB being hurt after being thrown down in the backfield after the whistle had already blown. There were other things but hopefully Zachary will win with grace this time, they should win this game by 2 TD’s.

Shaw's long term enrollment trend does not lend itself to competing in 5a or Div I(not that Div II is any easier(because it is more top heavy) - but they would be more competitive across the board in more sports in that 4a or the next 4a district.

I know for a fact the catholic league schools were not in agreement with the play in class agenda (most notably jesuit, st aug and shaw. I think Shaw needs to stop the bleeding and play in their proper class as the demographics in NO and private school attendance as a whole continues to decline - so will the issues that plaque shaw. As for attendance, since the split spread to all sports attendance at all catholic league sports continues to decline anyone denying that is simply not looking at the stands..... Ron has made his living off of the catholic league - he knows full well that if shaw leaves(that's a whole lot of devout alumni that won't be reading his prose) As you know it is not my alma mater but Shaw has a special place for me as I was involved there for many years, I wish they could return to like they were.

EA doesn’t have a chance. Since Catholic burst their bubble in the second half, they have not been a great team.

Watched the Ehret/Dutchtown game online. Ehret is peaking right now. They absolutely destroyed a Dutchtown team that hung with EA most of the game. Their defense is sick, and EA’s QB makes a lot of mistakes. That should be the differ
EA special teams could make this much closer than ya'll think...

very hard to catch when it happens at the bottom of a pile or when the closest official's view is blocked - lots of thing going on at the end of a play for every official on the field
