two of those SB titles required a phenomenal final drive by TB, a drive manning rarely has the nerve for in the postseason

First, are you saying that Manning doesn't have the nerve to lead his Colts back from a 21-3 defecit in the postseason? Manning doesn't have the nerve to lead a game winning drive in the postseason?

quote:

Manning started off the drive with three nonconsecutive completions for 58 yards, with a roughing-the-passer penalty on the third play adding another 12, moving the ball 70 yards in a span of 19 seconds and bringing up a first down at the Patriots' 11-yard line. Three plays later, Joseph Addai's 3-yard touchdown run gave the Colts their first lead of the game with only one minute remaining.

Second, does Brady ever choke? Is the moment too big for him?

quote:

Brady responded by leading his team to the Colts' 45-yard line. But cornerback Marlin Jackson intercepted Brady's next pass with 17 seconds left, ending the game, and sending the 2006 Indianapolis Colts to their third Super Bowl in team history

Thirdly, you keep adding postseason, as if Manning didn't totally light up the Chargers and Patriots in postseason games this year. Was the pressure to big for Manning backed up near his endzone to complete a 3rd and 20 and allow the Broncos to run out the clock? Was the moment too big for Manning to pass for 400 yards against the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game?

Tom Brady had a great defense, great kicker, and a great coach, he won 3 Super Bowls early in his career. Midway through his career he became the focal point of his team, and they routinely get shut down in playoff games, but you want to give him a pass. 17 and 14 points respectively in Super Bowl losses to the Giants, 16 points in a loss at Denver this year.

The biggest choke job by either player, ironically, was Tom Brady choking in the AFC Championship Game against the Colts in the RCADome in January 2007.

Which wasn't a rule until 06, but you already knew that of course.

If you want to win in the regular season take Manning. If you want to win in the post sea take Brady.

In the postseason:

Brady + camcorder > Manning > Brady

again, I am in no way saying brady is better, I'm saying he performs better in the playoffs, which is completely true.
Within the time frame given by the OP, and, therefore, within the parameter given in the discussion of this particular thread, this is completely not true since Peyton Manning has performed better in the playoffs than Tom Brady in the last decade.

Obviously the OP has an agenda in this thread, but the point of the thread does lend a lot of perspective to the debate.

The OP is a retard, he wants to know why people don't give him more shite, it is because they don't randomly select years to judge players, and they don't just look at the losses, they look at the wins.

I guess I'm the only one who looks at the wins and virtually ignores the losses. After all, going 1-20 in the playoffs is better than going 1-1 in the playoffs, right?

Another tidbit for the debate: Manning and Brady are 2-2 head-to-head in the postseason. Small sample size to say the least, but it's something.

Fact: This thread is about playoffs.
So let me give you the playoff numbers for a third time:

Tom Brady playoffs: 247ypg 1.65tds/g .85ints/g 62.11% completion and 87.5 rating

Peyton Manning: 286ypg 1.61 tds/g 1.03ints/g 64.3% completion and 89 rating

So the SB isn't part of the playoffs?
