Slavery ended in 1865 or so. Only to have the disenfranchisement begin.
History is history and is what it is. Today, if one puts in the work, they can make it. That wasn't always the case.

Or it could be that he is arguably the most gifted athlete to ever play basketball. A lot of black people play basketball, how many make it to the NBA? He knows he is very fortunate, he isn't exactly speaking for himself here... he's speaking for those much less fortunate.

But if I have to make a bet on two newborn babies, and one baby has a married family in a good neighborhood, and the other baby has a broken home and lives in the projects, I am betting on the baby with the solid home
And statiscally speaking, white babies will have that advantage
Now, like I said, whites are not to blame for this
