Are on the verge of a Lakers vs Celtics rivalry like the 80s? I hope so. That was a little before my time.

Lakers vs Celtics rivalry

was great in it's time...

GSW vs. CLE won't come close because the marquee players for one of the teams could be leaving, and GSW won't be quite as good next year, and may not even get to the Finals...

They didn't return to the finals either
Still set up an epic run for them in 87

yeah, i get you, but i'm talking about the possibility of Love leaving, LeBron leaving, a good chunk of the team that currently comprises GSW leaving...

i mean in reality, if LeBron leaves Cleveland, there is no more GSW vs. CLE rivalry...

that was more of what i was trying to say...

i kinda came in on the arse end of this.... born in 82...

i'm just very lucky to say that I watched Jordan and LeBron in their prime and for a majority of their careers.... both are historic basketball players and they have been unbelievably entertaining to watch play the game....

The fast black game vs slow white game contrast
The east versus west contrast
Beantown Garden vs LALA Land Forum
Bird vs Magic

It was bigger than basketball it was sold as style vs substance

Won't be topped, even though the game and the players are FAR better now than they were then

MJ changed all of that. He was style and substance and a mental/physical freak all rolled into one

Way better today, you mean 9 steps on layups, puss fouls even in the playoffs, no defense and no team ball outside of a couple teams.
