I'll laugh so hard if Sacramento hires him. It would be such a Sacramento thing to do.

Lakers go after Walton?

Walton would be an idiot to take that job. Ride the Warrior train until a great job comes available.

Unless the Lakers get the #1 or 2 pick in this year's draft

They better get a Top 3 pick or Operation Tank will be a complete failure

The way the Laker organization's luck has been going the last few years, they will end up getting the #4 pick and will end up not getting shite this year

i dont know if we get any one of the current targets fwiw. the laker organization is a mess and i would stay away from it if i was a top assistant or a top college coach. but its nice to know the direction they are going is pretty much steering clear from retreads even if they end up going to one like blatt

What the frick is the appeal of Kevin Ollie? Uconn was a national powerhouse and won 3 titles before he got there. his first year he finishes 8th in the big east. Next season he guides the team to an 8th seed in the tournament and they get hot and win 6 games in a row and will go down in history as the worst ncaa champion. The next season they miss the tournament. This season they are a 9th seed and get blown out by Kansas in the second round.

To me he is no different than a tubby smith or Larry Coker. If I was a lakers fan I'd absolutely want jay wright over Kevin Ollie.

He was a show-timer who came to us from Cleveland.

There shall never be another like him.

And now his watch has ended.

players love him and he knows how to coach a defense. if he can either a) figure out how to expand his knowledge of the motion offense or b) establish a coaching staff that does, im confident hed do really well. id be happy with ollie, walton, wright, or jvg

I'll give him the defense thing since his uconn teams were always gritty on D, but mike brown and Byron Scott are defensive guys and look how that turned out. But seriously, in 4 years at uconn Ollie has never guided the team to higher than an 8 seed in the ncaa tournament.... That's awful. He better strike while the iron is hot and ride that 6 game win streak from 2014 to a huge payday.
