Kobe had the only "no trade" clause in the NBA. If he really wanted out - he'd have been out. So I guess the question is...how many times did Kobe leave the Lakers to only play on a team with 3 of the top 5 players in the NBA (per PER the year beforehand) and refuse to return to his home team until it became a better newer super team than his old super team?

I'll wait and see how long to takes you to count to ZERO.

He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets. Watched them leave Charlotte and played long enough for them to return to Charlotte

1. Not if the Lakers didn't want him to be out.

2. He's on record admitting to trying to force his way out, but you're fighting that good fight!!!

If Kobe really wanted out - all he had to do was sit then sign. Amazing how that didn't happen.

I'm not sure what you're arguing. Phil Jackson and Kobe himself have admitted he requested a trade. He did really want out.

The Lakers had a deal with Detroit and Kobe nixed it with his no trade clause.

He should have retired 2 seasons ago. However, I am an avid Kobe hater so I will have to focus my hate on LBJ.

So how is it beneficial to him to lie about it?

Kobe will always be my favorite player. He was still a top 5 player in 2012-2013, which is pretty insane at age 34. He is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats and a true inner circle HOF player. He is top 15 at worst by any metric. I have him top 10 (probably around 8).

Most of all, I will just miss watching Kobe play. He is a true legend, and I was lucky enough to grow up with Kobe.

Thanks for the memories. Regardless of his all-time ranking, Kobe will always be my personal GOAT.
