Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said star guard Kobe Bryant has told the GM that the 2015-16 season will be Bryant's last with the Lakers.

"He has indicated to me that this is it," Kupchak said Thursday in a radio appearance with SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Bryant is scheduled to make a league-high $25 million in his final contract season -- his 20th -- with the Lakers. But there's speculation that Bryant could play beyond next season, and Bryant said he hasn't ruled out that possibility.

quote:

Because of the uncertainty about Bryant's future, Kupchak said he's unsure if there will be a farewell tour next season.

"It's kind of up to the player, if they want to do something like that," Kupchak said. "And it also may take away some options a year from now and put a player in an awkward position, but he will be recognized appropriately with great gratitude when it is time."

Well, he says "last with the Lakers". Maybe he'll spend a few seasons in Charlotte.

Last year in the league or last year as a Laker?

Would be cool to see him retire as a Laker

Dude should just stop.

His body has been trying to tell him it's time to retire. The message is only going to get louder and louder.

Most skilled player to ever play the game. He mastered all the greats' best moves. Could pass like Magic, score better than Michael, if needed, rebound like Rodman, shake like Hakeem, hook like Dirk, sky high like Kareem, compete like Bird, and retire the GOAT.

First player ever with 30,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, and 6,000 assists. He played and beat the best in the golden era of basketball.

What about Jordan you ask? He won in a gigantic bubble of NBA suck after the greats were gone (Bird, Kareem, Worthy - injured in the 91 finals, and Magic - who had to take on the Pippen in 91 then got AIDS) and before the influx the world's talent.

Pippen you say? Never had a losing season. Jordan, without Pippen over 5 seasons, had a losing season every time.

Lebron you ask? That's easy. He could never win without running to a super team and lost more than he won via choking even then. Just a front runner with no heart. The true epitome of a millennial. So afraid to lose he stacks the deck.

Kobe. The teams came to him. The GOAT.

So Kobe is better than LeBron because he started in LA instead of Cleveland, the least desirable free agent destination in sports?
