How do you guys feel about this game? You're better coached than us and our defense is just meh with a couple great players. I just hope Fran lets Tyler Jones loose and lets him dominate.

Probably wont be able to stop yall's offense. Just got to hope we can pound the rock all game and keep yall's O off the field.

Our Front 4 is pretty good against the run, IF we're allowed to keep them in the game.

Problem is either our DBs or our coaching of them/secondary game plan is so bad we've been having to pull out a D-Lineman to stay in a perpetual Nickel secondary. When that happens, anyone with a half-way competent line and RB can run on us (as they could anyone who is always 3-3-5).

If your QB can complete passes, we're in trouble. If he can't throw to where you have to rely on mostly on the running game, I like our chances.

I work with several TX State guys. I pull for ya'll in other games, but tomorrow night, I hope I'm not the one sending, not receiving the trash-talking texts.

Technically, we run a 3-4 as the base defense, but have not had a designated pass rusher at olb until last week. Just having 3 big run stuffers up front was not getting any pressure at all.

Tovell has been moved inside so that should help our weak spot in coverage over the middle of the field. A safety has also been moved to one of the olb spots, so hopefully that helps as well.

* the defense should resemble a 4-2-5 except with a standup olb instead of a de. I'm interested to see how the changes workout tomorrow

I have always thought of Franchione as a very good coach from his TCU and Alabama days?
Obviously his move to aTm did not work out and set his career back, but he can't be that bad ?

Got ya. Thanks.

Listening to the game last weekend (and even embarrassments like the LA Tech game, except that one 99 yarder), seems every time we were in base defense, we were fine against the run. However, teams then are able to have receivers wide open all over the field.

We move into our Nickel secondary, and a run up the middle is all the doctor needs to order.

He's really not THAT bad. I was OK with his hire to help us transition into FBS, but the fan base is ready for someone new. He suffers from the Les Miles thought train. When you get a lead, just get conservative and try and not lose. That already cost us the Illinois game. We were having our way with them and he got conservative on offense. I feel like Tyler Jones can be an outstanding QB, but he's hindered by the coaching staff. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll take the Kansas job.

In San Marcos now. Pretty fun place, but I haven't run into another cajun fan yet. I might be by myself tomorrow night.
