Lafayette Christian Academy. What’s the real story on this new football powerhouse?

Either Trev Faulk and now Hunter Landry are two of the best to ever coach in Louisiana, or they’re cheating and recruiting à la Evangel and John Curtis.

I seriously doubt they are that good at coaching.

No. But I’ve never gotten any info from anyone who reads knows. I’ve just had my suspicions for several years.

Put "Christian" or "Catholic" in your name and you can cheat like a motherfricker.
For a few years, anyway.

Uh, no. I went to Notre Dame and I guarantee you we didn’t recruit and still don’t. Very few kids from ND play college football.

You don’t just start a football program and win multiple championships like LCA has. They’re cheating, no doubt about it.

So how do they do it? Just give kids free tuition?

The best roster money can buy. It’s a diploma factory for athletes.

They might be though. Everyone overemphasizes X’s and O’s and underemphasizes player development

They had one winning season in the three LHSAA seasons they played before Trev got there. They do have some money backing them, much of it is from business owners who have kids or grandkids in school there.

The school itself has been there since 1974. They just didn't participate in LHSAA because they were small. I think they started in LHSAA in basketball first in Class B for a few years before they added football and moved up to 1A.

They are the least expensive nondenominational Christian school in Lafayette, or at least were when my kids went there. Both of my kids are LSU graduates.

Their athletic programs have won a lot of games and championships, but I can’t think of any players that have had big impacts in college. Make or female. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Name someone they recruited.

And don’t say Tyler Shelvin. It’s well known that he was getting into trouble and his grades sucked at Northside, so his parents pulled him out of there for his own good. His parents visited ND and liked the school and Coach Cook.

You sound like a fricking fool saying they recruit. If they recruit, they’re doing a terrible job because none of their players go on to play college ball. Unlike LCA.

I wasn’t even talking about him dude wasn’t even that good but since you went there how nice of ND to take in a 5 star recruit out of the kindness of their heart. ND combs over all the neighboring parishes and tries to take guys from the small towns that aren’t superstars but if they would stay at their local school would make that school great but instead they go to ND and it just hurts the local public schools

This is the stuff that shitty public schools in acadia/jeff Davis have been accusing ND of for years but can't actually point proof of it happening

That's true of LCA as well, at least D1 as starters.

When my son was at LCA, Tyler Shelvin was shopping schools, he visited LCA but decided to go to Notre Dame. They out-recruited LCA I guess. Isn't he in the NFL now? No LCA alums in the NFL yet.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

You can't do that. You can only offer assistance that is available to the student body at large. I'm sure there are ways around that, though. I am not sure LCA does that.

When my son played, most of the kids on the team had been students at LCA since kindergarten, it's a K-12 school and a lot of kids' families also were members of The Family Church.

Well who the frick would turn down a 5 star recruit?

ND is the only Catholic high school in Acadia parish you moron, that’s why kids from other small towns go there. They have kids from Rayne, Church Point, Iota, Midland, Crowley and all the smaller communities and rural areas.

There might be a handful of kids from Jennings or other communities out of the parish.

They don’t “comb” shite, you’re a fricking moron. Do you even know what “recruiting” means? It means going out all over and giving kids free tuition and probably some cash to the parents. I can guarantee you that ND has never done that. Hell, we hardly have any black players.

Like I said, if they’re recruiting, they’re doing a terrible job of it.

So, you’ve seen some kid who’s not from Crowley and is a decent athlete, who’s parents want him to get a Catholic education go to ND. And you consider that cheating and recruiting?

Get the frick outta here with your bullshite.
